Lovely readers I would love to know what you are cooking your family for dinner, this week, or what you cooked them last week. You don’t have to share a full weekly plan, just inspire us with one dinner idea, perhaps the one that your family enjoyed the most last week? Seeing what you cooked your tribe for dinner may inspire some of us to try what you made, mix it up a little in our own plans 🙂
Each Monday I will share my families weekly meal plan and other recipes to help inspire you. I use easy family friendly recipes that the kids will enjoy. I do try my best to keep our meal plan healthy, however we may have something every now that may not be. See my previous weekly meal plans here.

This weeks meal plan
The twins had their sleepover birthday parties this week, I served nacho’s and taco’s for dinner at their parties, quick and easy meals to serve a crowd. I just realised I haven’t blogged my recipes, I will try and do that soon!
MONDAY
Steamed fish with a dollop of basil pesto on top and a side of vegetables.
TUESDAY
Coconut Curried Sausages (thermomix recipe) here is my traditional recipe. Curried sausages is one my all time favourite comfort foods. It’s funny how eating this meal reminds me so much of the evenings I spent with my Nan after music practice when I was little.
Curried sausages is one my all time favourite comfort foods. It’s funny how eating this meal reminds me so much of the evenings I spent with my Nan after music practice when I was younger. I love my traditional recipe, but I wanted to try Nik from Skinnymixers recipe as it cooks everything from rice to sausages all in the thermomix. I added to the recipe a little, including some vegetables and I forgot to put it in the picture, but I love boiled eggs in mine (which I cooked on the stovetop).
WEDNESDAY
Last nights left overs
THURSDAY
Mexican Corn and Zucchini Fritters
This is a light meal, which I served with some lettuce, cubes of cheese and cherry tomatoes. The kids were still hungry afterwards, i served them a big bowl of fruit salad and yoghurt for dessert. They really enjoyed this, next time I might consider serving it alongside some chicken kebabs.
FRIDAY
Nacho’s – Mr 13 had his ‘mates stayin the night’ birthday party
SATURDAY
Taco’s – Miss 13 had her friends sleepover birthday party
SUNDAY
BBQ chicken and salad – had 2 sleepover parties the past 2 nights, easy dinner is called for.
BAKING
I didn’t do much baking again this weekend…. we’ll I guess I did, I made 2 birthday cakes for the twins birthday parties.
My miss 11 made some Coconut, Almond & Macadamia Balls for lunchboxes through the week.
And I quickly made some Zucchini Feta Slice on Sunday afternoon for the kids lunch boxes.

Tuesday – Chick schnitzel, cauli tumeric rice, corn cobs & vege ‘salad’
Wednesday – Steamed salmon & Kale coleslaw
Thursday – Lamb chops & green mash (normally sweet potato, pea & zucchini)
Friday – Tumeric chicken & black rice
Saturday – Chicken burgers & sweet potato fries ?
Sunday – leftover night….
I made ‘5 min Beans & Rice’ – its on high rotation in our household.
Simply dump rice to feed your family in your rice cooker/slow cooker, along with a can of diced tomatoes, stock to cover, can of black or red kidney beans, along with added extras: cumin, paprika, diced & fried shallots or onion, cayenne or chilli. Set rice cooker to cook, and when cooked – serve nachos style with avocado, cheese, lime juice, sour cream/yoghurt, and corn chips or in our case chick pea chips.
Yum, this sounds great, I’m going to try this in the slow cooker tomorrow. Thanks.
hope you enjoy it 🙂
