My definition of purge – sell, donate, repurpose or throw away items as you see fit
Clothes that no longer fit
Do you have clothes in your wardrobe or underwear in your drawer that no longer fit you, possibly they are too small or too big? If so they are taking up valuable space in your wardrobe where you could be storing some perfectly fitted clothes.
Or you may even have clothes that you just don’t like anymore. Try using THE COAT HANGER METHOD – Turn all your coat hangers the wrong way. When you have worn an item place it back in your closet with the coat hanger the correct way around. After 6 months all the coat hangers the wrong way around are an indication that you haven’t worn this item. If this is so, be brave and remove this item from your closet and donate to a friend or charity.
This is our wardrobe, I hang all clothes I iron and clothes that don’t need to be iron but will straighten out if hung for a few days. I keep all gym gear, board shorts, leggings, home clothes, jeans etc folded on the shelves.
To keep the shelves organised I created labels to make sure all clothes were put back where they belong. These clothes labels are available in my shop as an instant download, you get pink and blue in the one pack, only $2.95.
Todays task is to:
Remove all the clothes that no longer fit you from your wardrobe. I’ll leave this choice to you if you want to purge them or store them away. Don’t forget your bras, undies, socks and PJ’s, sort through all your clothes!
How many items have you been able to purge today?
I would like to see a photo of your purge pile on Instagram, use the hashtag #declutter52
Organising your closet by creating a capsule wardrobe
These wardrobes are very unrealistic but’s it’s nice to look!
