These caramel tarts are incredibly yummy and super easy to make. The perfect ‘bring a plate’ – everybody will love them and think you slaved in the kitchen for hours! These tarts have become a ‘requirement’ when I catch up with girlfriends for morning tea or asked to bring a plate at dinner parties.
I used to use frozen Pampas Tart Cases, but they no longer make them, you can find premade tart cases in the bakery section at the supermarket.
To the tart cases add a spoonful of caramel, top with a dollop of cream and sprinkle with flake chocolate. EASY!
Ooh so tasty!
The tarts pictured above are no longer available. However you can find ready made mini tart cases in the bakery section at Woolworths and Coles.

Caramel Tarts
Method
- Spoon caramel evenly into cases, spreading to the edge.
- Dollop a large spoonful of cream over the caramel.
- Crumble flake over cream.
- Keep in fridge until ready for serving.

These are also a family fav in our place – But I use Ginger Snaps on the bottom and heat them till they are soft in the oven in shallow muffin trays, pushing them in to shape then leaving them to cool forming little cases.
Just adds a nice taste to them..:)
mmmm….like that idea Chelle…thanks for sharing.
Thats exactly what i do Chelle, except that I use butternut snaps…also yummy 🙂
Yep! We use butternut snaps here too! Delicious!! And instead of flake I usually melt a little chocolate and pipe some little decorations onto baking paper for the top… like I did here
Very clever, great tip!
Making caramel is a lot of fun too. I had a ball making these homemade caramel apples by Martha Stewart. Perfect for Halloween! http://michaelbeyer.wordpress.com/2010/10/10/clas…
Instead of using tart cases, you can use ginger nut biscuits…just pop them in a muffin tin and bung them in the oven for 5-10 mins (watch them). They will soften and sink down into a bowl shape. Then just take them out, let them cool and harden again and add the rest. Yummy!
Sorry Chelle! Just read your post – duh!
Such a simple and great idea, thank you for the tip
Add a slice or 2 of banana at the bottom – yummm
Ooh Leanne, that sounds divine, I’m going to have to try that next time 🙂
The banana is a real winner, it’s like a banoffee pie – delish!
Ooh i love the sound of the banana too, Sharmion!
Thanks
