One of my readers Hayley, sent me these pictures of her children’s lunch boxes. She has two children one who eats everything and one who is fussy. She finds that if she changes the shapes of the sandwiches and gets creative, she will eat almost anything.
I hope this may help some of you out there with fussy eaters in the family.

Hi Katrina. I was so excited to open up your mail this morning to find my lunchbox pics on your blog. I feel like a celebrity today. 🙂 Thank you for sharing them.
I love bento lunches too! My two have been a bit little to care so far, but the older one now gets a kick out of a heart-shaped piece of cheese 🙂
What great ideas! I have especially fussy kids 🙂
That cheese ninja is the cutest thing in the world.
These ideas are so amazingly cute! Love them!!????
I just wish my kids liked babybel cheese – those little ninjas are gorgeous!
I just cannot imagine ever doing that. So much effort. What do you do with the rest of the carrot? I’m very impressed that you have done this.
Cute 🙂 we like to bento too! I recently joined an Aussie bento FB group “little bento lunchbox” a group where mums inspire each other uploading their pics of the cutest lunches!
They are very cute but I don’t think you truly get the concept of a fussy eater!
My fussy eater would eat the bread, If I was lucky (It could have been contaminated by having something on it), and he might eat the cheese!
On the other hand, my Daughter would love a lunch like that!
Where do I get those lunch boxes from?
Mandy, these lunch boxes are from Tupperware. They are great.
And how do you keep the apples from going brown?
Mandy my kids now eat whole apples, but when they were younger I cut them up too and placed them in the tupperware sandwich keeper plus boxes, they weren’t brown by first break. I have heard some people use lemon juice to stop them going brown too.
Great ideas. but just doesn’t look very practical :-/ I’m wondering how it all stays chilled & what it actually looks like by morning tea/luch???
Super cute ideas! Thanks for sharing all these great ideas on your website Kat! Quick question, I’ve been looking for an esky that the Tupperware Lunch Box will fit neatly into. Have you got any suggestions? At the moment I just use the Nude Food Movers, but would love to dust my Tuppers off again. :o)
Nicola Tupperware now sell insulated bags for that fit the sandwich keeper plus perfectly, in fact it’s big enough to fit 2 or the lunchbox, ice brick fruit and more, ample space. Off the top of my head I think they are $20.
As mentioned earlier that little bento facebook page is brilliant for ideas!
If you want eyes, you can use sultanas instead of a fancy food pen
Fridge to go lunchboxes fit many a bento lunch box and keep it all cold for 8 hours.
For apples not going brown ( get a bowl of cold or tap water, add a pinch of salt and soak a minute or two, then you can rinse cut apple and stow)
I love those little notes Hayley!
It really doesn’t take that much time to do a a bento lunch – I thought it would too, until I tried and got fast. Essentially its a vegemite sanger, youghurt and fruit, just cut/ separated 🙂
Hi, what lunchbox do you use? Thanks!
Need ideas ! I have a child who won’t eat sandwiches , wraps ,any normal food at school , I send saladas with Vegemite she eats them, even they are no longer being eaten , struggling to find something substantial to send to school
Looking forward. Very exited to get ideas.
