Spring is just around the corner and soon we will be enjoying outdoor BBQ’s, socialising outside with family and friends and relaxing around the pool. Our outdoors is an extension of our home, the ‘outdoor room’ where we can sit, relax and enjoy the fresh air while the kids run around the backyard or swim in the pool.
Gone are the days of simple wooden tables and chairs, now there is available a range of comfortable outdoor settings and lounges in different styles and sizes to suit your budget and outdoor room.
Stylish outdoor furniture
I’ve teamed up with Super Amart to help show you how to re-style an outdoor area, to create a space you will enjoy spending time in this Spring. I like to add accessories, styling as I do our indoors as the feel adds to its comfort and makes it more appealing. I’ve styled our outdoor area using these products:
- Granada 3 Piece Setting
- Artemis Tea Light Holder
- Cancun Placemat
- Holiday Outdoor Cushion

We can stack the setting together when not in use. The beauty is that this setting is really light and can easily be stacked on top of each other. I like the idea of curling up here comfortably with a magazine while the kids are swimming in the pool.

Outdoor cushions are made from synthetic fabrics which help the cushion dry more quickly and avoid water damage which will resist mildew. Wash pillow covers regularly to keep them clean and fresh. Like indoor cushions they can be washed in the washing machine.

A guide to purchasing outdoor furniture
I’ve put together a little guide to help you when you are trying to choose your next outdoor setting along with maintenance tips to help you keep it clean and looking good.
Timber
- Hard wearing
- If your timber setting will be outside if full sun and rain ensure it is treated so it will repel water.
- Teak timber is resistant to rotting, warping, shrinking and swelling
Maintenance: It is recommended to oil some timber outdoor furniture twice a year. The oil protects the timber by reducing the damage caused by water and sunlight, preventing it from rotting.
Shadow 2 Outdoor setting (pictured above) is constructed of superior timber and stainless steel hardware, this classic outdoor setting is protected by an Armacote UV resistant PU coating, so you can enjoy years of outdoor entertainment come rain, hail, or shine. No maintenance or oiling is required! READ MORE.
See Super Amarts full outdoor timber setting range here.
Aluminium
- Lightweight, which makes it easy to move around
- Will remain cool to touch when in direct sunlight.
- Resistant to fade
- Naturally resistant to corrosion
- Available in a variety of colours
Maintenance: simply wipe down with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt.

The Matino 7 piece outdoor setting’s (pictured above) rust-proof powder coated aluminium frame makes it perfect for surviving in the Aussie outdoors, while the toughed glass table top can easily withstand the heat of still-warm serving dishes. READ MORE.
See Super Amarts full outdoor glass & metal setting range here.
Plastic
- Stackable
- Easy to clean
- Won’t rust
- UV rays from sun may change it’s colour
- should be stored in shade
Maintenance: simply wipe down with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt.
Resin Wicker
- Lightweight, which makes it easy to move around
- Available in a variety of colours
- The fabric cushions give a touch of luxury
- Resistant to the sun’s UV radiation and water
- Durable
Maintenance: Wash down with warm, soapy water.
The Vivian 9 piece dining setting (pictured above) is constructed of premium, natural, half-round wicker and rust-proof aluminium frames. It is UV resistant and requires no maintenance. READ MORE HERE.

Relaxing & playing cricket
Being out in the garden with my two girls helping/playing then we all enjoy eating dinner outside admiring our surroundings
our favourite activity is sharing food with family or friends while we laugh and spend time together. Watching the kids play and giggle as they go on the slip and slide brings joy to our household .
Watching the kids play ( and joining in )and using their imagination and turning whatever they find laying around the backyard into cubby houses or whatever else takes their fancy that day. It’s the simple things, I guess.
I love sitting around with friends and family having a BBQ while the kids are playing footy and cricket or jumping on the trampoline!
We enjoying sitting around with friends and their kids playing cricket or kicking the footy while the charcoal chicken is cooking and finishing off with cooking marshmallows over the fire pit.
My favourite backyard activity is lying on a blanket with a magazine or book, listening to the birds, enjoying the sunshine and just relaxing.
I love reallazing outside with a good book! Or having my niece and nephews over some fun outside, a real favourite of theirs is bubble blowing, and there’s nothing like relaxing with family and friends sharing a meal
currently our favourite thing to do in the backyard is we are building a vegetable garden with herbs and vegetables that we will use to put on pizza and cook in our pizza oven!
My favourite backyard activity would be to spend quality time with family and friends. It’s about enjoying the little things in life whether it be cooking on the BBQ to share some food with the people you love or watching the kids play by using their imagination to discover more of the outside world.
Bbq and bonfire with the family.
Definately enjoying a wine while i watch the husband mow our 1 1/4 acre block !!!
Spending time with my 6 children in and around the swimming pool, relaxing and having fun.
bbq with music with family & friends & off course our pets
Backyard basketball and tipsy cricket with my 2 boys and dog as fielder
My favorite backyard activity is a dinner party out on the back deck. We have the table brimming with home cooked food, fairy lights and music on, while the kids and adults all entertain each other and cook marshmallows over the fire. Add a few drinks and some chilled out banter and it is my ultimate backyard activity!!!
Sitting on the verandah knitting, watching the kidlets in the sandpit and trampoline.
My fav activity is having a party!!!! Be is a party of 1, one for the kids or an adults only kind of party ?
Entertaining friends and playing old fashioned games with the kids like duck duck goose and chasey and playing with them on the play equipment x
I love to read beneath the trees in the backyard. At least 10 degrees cooler in summer. Free air conditioning & fresh air.
Sitting outside on a nice summer day reading a book or entertaining family and friends. Nothing better than a Summer BBQ with the ones you love!
Enjoying playing with my kids, planting herbs lettuce and tomatos and cucumbers and watching their excitement as they grow and teaching them how to care for them and then eating them!
We love playing with our little dog Zena in our back yard. She is such a happy girl and brings our family so much joy. She brings us together more than we ever thought a dog could. We love her so much!
Quality family time relaxing watching our little one playing with the dogs and playing in the pool all together. Summer time is the best
Playing with bubbles outside with my son. Seeing his excitement as he tries to catch and pop them makes my heart smile.
Either early morning before it gets too hot, watering the garden and collecting Vegies and eggs or early evening enjoying BBQ, music, friends, family and kids over for dinner.
Sitting out under a tree reading an awesome book!
We love to get out in the garden. Living in Melbourne you like to make the most of the warmer months. At the moment we are working on our veggie garden and look forward to getting some fresh vegetables and herbs. Very rewarding.
Gardening with my 5 year son whilst smelling the BBQ cooking in the background.
a book, a glass and sunny spot…. if only I had a comfy spot to sit!
My favourite outdoor activity is two things. I love running around playing with my kids playing monsters (their favourite game) and drawing on the patio cement with chalk with my 5 and almost 2 year old. They love that they have a hug space to draw whatever they want instead of being limited on a chalkboard.
My favourite outdoor activity is roasting marshmallows around our fire pit with the family!
It’s a bit of an old school activity but I love playing totem tennis in the backyard with my daughter!!! Reminds me of when I was a child 🙂 haha x
I love chilling out watching my husband mow the lawn!
I enjoy tending to my vege patch with my daughter and teaching her about healthy foods and cooking with our homegrown goods. 🙂
sitting outside around our fire pit having a cheeky red wine & toasting marshmallows with our children
Sitting on the steps with a coffee watching my son do tricks on his skateboard and my daughter learning to rollerblade. Precious and treasured moments
Reading in the sun with a glass or rose or a hot coffee
Playing with the dog and gardening. Getting the backyard ready for our baby on the way and entertaining.
I love having BBQs
A good old Aussie BBQ with friends
Sitting back with good food, family and friends and some good music while the kids wear themselves out in the backyard – living the good life!
Kicking the football around with the hubby and son while the dogs try and chase it.
I love decorating the outdoor table with a crisp white tablecloth, napkins, fresh flowers and lighting candles in my candelabra over the table. Then I make a beautiful meal to share with my husband and family. This time is so precious as DH works away so it is like a celebration when he comes home to have some R&R.
We love to Draw with chalk on floor, play with water hose, jump on trampoline and explore plants and insects
My boys absolutely love digging in the dirt with their spades and Tonka truck, and making mud pies. I love getting down and being involved with their play, and enjoying the moment. I love seeing them playing in nature, its just dirt, it’ll wash off!!
We recently built a house so at the moment our backyard consists of only dirt! Therefore I’d have to say our favourite activity is playing in the mud! :0
As a family of 4 we love the outdoors. We often have a BBQ on the weekends, play in the pool and play table tennis. It’s a great feeling just spending relaxing family time together outdoors.
Gardening and playing with the kids and dog.
We got married in 2009 and have spent the last 6 years creating an inviting and safe space for entertaining family, friends and their little ones. We’re are so close to finishing. Being with family and friends outdoors, especially in the warm weather is the most satifying and fulfilling activity because it never seems to matter what we’re doing, we’re enjoying one another’s company, so entertaining is our fav backyard activity
I absolutely love anything outdoors and when entertaining recently we sprayed twister on the lawn! We had an absolute ball playing that outside in the fresh air- so much fun for all ages!
Our favourite family time in the backyard is sitting on top of the cubby house looking up at the clouds and stars. Wine + nibbles + happy kids = a family little family!
My current favorite backyard activity is watching my 9 month old son chase the cat while I try to turn our sandpit of a backyard into an inviting entertaining area! Looking forward to summer barbecues with friends and family in a few months time.
Booknics- Like a picnic on a rug but with books instead of food. Just bought a bigger rug so all 4 of us can booknic together.
My favourite family backyard activity is when my Grand-daughter comes to visit. We lounge up on the deck whilst it is transformed into her “stage.” Having drinks & nibblies with the family as the future Star of “Australia’s Got Talent”, entertains us. Very Precious! <3
I want to sit in those comfy SuperAmart chairs
Watching my kids play with our beagles without cares
Sitting in the back yard watching the kids play in the pool and enjoying quality time with family and friends
I have the biggest smile as I turn the sprinklers on and sit and watch my husband race around in and under the cold sprinklers with our daughter.
Having meals on the deck in daylight savings, sometimes there’s even time to watch hubby mow the lawn while I finish my wine 😉
Swimming with my entire family. Bomb dives are a particular family favourite.
My children bowling me out cause of the look of sheer joy on their faces, they beat Mum
watching the children play and the chickens happily scratching around with them
My favourite backyard activity is to grab a picnic rug and lay on the grass with my girls picking out animals in the clouds.
Blowing bubbles for my daughter and my dog! 🙂
We have a tiny backyard as we live in a townhouse, but we make use of it as well as we can. On summer evenings we have often been known to drag our dining room table outside (squeezing it through the doorway!) and eat dinner in our grassy courtyard, then enjoy card or board games by candlelight – although the angle of the lawn makes that tricky!!
Soaking up the sunshine as we work the vege garden and tend the flowers followed by a swim and play in the pool and a bonfire bbq at night.
Spending time with friends enjoying a great BBQ cooked by Hubby and a few drinks and music with the kids laughing and making noise
Our family loves to roast marshmallows on our outdoor fire. We compete to see who gets the most golden brown and ooziest marshmallow.
I love playing a mean game of handball with my son and then flopping down into our chairs and relaxing while hubby cooks a barbie.
Warm lazy days, watching the gardens growing and flowering, swimming with my family and loving life!
Shared family lunches around the big rustic handmade table in the courtyard…enjoying the food, wine and sunshine under the grapevine…
On the weekends when the sun goes down me and my boys get our torches and go bug hunting they love to see all the different bugs at night it’s great fun
Playing outside with our son who just turned 2. Chasey, running under the sprinkler, water play, playing with the dogs, ball games, racing in his cars, even mowing the lawn with his Dad; anything active out in the fresh air!
I just love watching my boys play together, especially on the trampoline. I sometimes join them too!
Actually being IN my backyard after enduring most of 2015 not being able to get anywhere near it while we renovate our house. I miss my veggie patch, the girls miss their cubby house and – believe it or not – dad misses mowing the lawn! Aussie summer in the backyard, here we come!
Sitting back cuddling our 3 month old boy and taking sometime out in the fresh air watching my 3 year old son playing in his cubby
I love sitting and watching a small bonfire while having a drink and some dinner.
This sounds weird but i love to watch my 3 year old play and fold washing at the same time straight off the line[it stops the clothes creasing as much],you dont really notice how long it takes to fold then its ready to pack away,i also have a basket for each person,no sorting when you get inside.
Watching my 2 year old daughter and dog chasing bubbles from our bubble machine!
We love playing with our children! 2 young boys with a ton of energy!
We also love eating dinner outside on warm nights.
Sitting in the sun with a good book on a warm spring day.
After a feed of BBQ prawns, fish and fresh muddies, just chilling with the neighbours , cranking up Pink Floyd “The Wall” layin back and watching the stars. Truly doesn’t get any better than that!
I love to lie in my hammock with a good book. In the summer I lie in it of an evening and chat with hubby while he cooks dinner on the BBQ.
Enjoying family and friends over for a catch
I don’t think you can beat a backyard bbq. The pace of cooking outdoors is so different to just putting something together in the kitchen. At a bbq People are more relaxed, there’s time to chat and reconnect. Roll on Summer and let’s fire up the bbq
sitting in the sun with a good book, some good music and a cuppa or better still a glass of bubbly
I love playing under the sprinkler with my kids (and dog lol). Then drying off on the deck, watching the summer sun set while feasting on a delicious bbq. With a glass off wine or bubbly it’s totally relaxing!
Gardening with the kids: planting veggies/ fruit trees – picking produce from the garden; sitting on the decking doing an activity with the kids- watching them play on their bikes or in the sand pit.
Family Birthday Parties. Too many for inside, so we set up under the patio…anything that combines friends, family and cake has to be a winner!!
My family loves to sit and watch the local wallabies feeding and in Spring, eat early dinners by the barbecue.
Love going on picnics at a local lake. It’s a lazy day of eating, swimming and napping. And the kids can make as much mess as they like.
Playing Bocce (Italian lawn Bowls)
Everyone can play no matter age, size of group or skill level. Always Fun.
Soaking up the sunshine! 🙂
Spending time with family and friends, having BBQ,s and enjoying each other’s company, kicking the football and watching the kids splash in the pool in summer!
Having water fights with my husband and two boys then relaxing with a bbq for dinner.
Pitching a tent and backyard camping is the best. Star gazing and telling funny stories is great family time.
Playing under the sprinkler with the kids during Summer.
Bocce, we have so much fun and an overload of laughter playing bocce in the backyard.
Barbecue with family & friends, followed by backyard cricket.
Re-cultivating our demolished backyard gardens, after husband decided that having 6 free-range chickens would be a good idea.
Nothing better than relaxing with friends and a chilled glass of wine on a warm summers night while hubby does the barbecue.
Playing outside with the dogs while my partner takes care of the garden! Love enjoying the Perth sun and seeing my family so happy.
Painting with the little one. We can make as much mess as possible, and to clean, all I need to do is hose her down!
Ours is fruit picking – we’ve just moved and our new place has mandarin, grapefruit and plum trees and the kids love picking their own fruit for their school lunches.
Our backyard is full of opportunity
With so much fun to be had
And every chance we get to enjoy it
Always makes the family glad.
Little Miss Five really comes alive
As she uses the trampoline
Acts so funny bouncing up and down
Like a cute little jumping bean.
Master Twelve really likes to delve
Down into his vegie patch
Weeding, pruning and watering
So he’ll get another bumper batch.
Miss Seventeen is no drama queen
Goes out back to get a tan
Enjoys the sun whilst getting study done
As often as she can.
My wife loves doing crosswords
Sitting out on the deck
Head down, pencil a constant blur
She prefers old-school to high-tech.
And there I stand at the BBQ
Turning sausages with extreme zeal
Ensuring everything’s perfect before
Sitting down to a great family meal.
Our backyard is full of memories
Of all the good times that we’ve had
And every chance we get to enjoy it
Always makes the family glad.
I really enjoy being in the sandpit with my little boys who are 3 and 2 years. There is something therapeutic about digging holes and making castles and of course race tracks
ha ha
Laughter, always with, never at.
A smokey BBQ and mozzie splat.
Tipperty run or water balloon fun
Being together is my number one.
Oh firing up the BBQ with some juicy steaks and consuming a beer or two while cooking.
Backyard antics while entertaining friends and family by the pool!
We love spending quality time together in the back yard playing basketball and having a bbq.
My all time favourite thing is a barbecue with family – whether it’s just sausages on bread or a full feast. I love being outdoors and the smell of the wood burning, the greens & blues of the bushland & sky. Can’t wait until spring to do it all again!
Going out at night, lying on the grass and looking for shooting stars and satellites with the kids.
During the warmer months we will have all of our meals outside; and of course going for a walk with our dogs around the property (acreage) twice a day.
Fun, laughter and great food shared with family and friends !
I love to sit in my Gazebo with a book or doing some embroidery while listening to some gentle relaxing music.
My dog and cat usually keep me company.
In the summer we sometimes camp in the back yard with the kids
then after a wild night with not much sleep
we fire up the bbq
and the adults enjoy some fantastic food
My favourite outdoor pastime would have to be sunbathing because it invariably means winter is gone!
When I’m not out playing with the kids, I love to find a comfy spot in the sun with a coffee and watch them play. Their wonderful imaginations never fail to put a smile on my face (or give us a bit of a laugh!). If you asked the kids, they’d say sitting around the fire pit and having toasted marshmallows in the cooler weather is the best thing to do.
My favourite backyard activity is getting on the trampoline with the kids and having a good old bounce with them! It takes me right back to my childhood. I am quite sure my hips and knees never used to hurt the way they do now though!
We love to play Footket Ball, a mixture of cricket and football that exemplifies the random house nature our family has!
Sitting outside on a warm melbourne summer night with family and friends around tge bbq watching the kids run around the yard 🙂
I love to carry our 11 week old son around the backyard and point out all the new sights to him. We point out flowers (pretty colours!), doggies (gentle!), Mama’s basil (smells yummy!) and magpies (watch out!).
We love exploring out new back yard! We’ve just moved and Miss 5 is over the moon at the amount of space she has now. Its awesome.
I love gardening and getting outside with the kids. Better than computers and Ipads – planting, watering and special digs! Kids are amazed at how things grow, eating fresh herbs and vegies you know, teaches them to eat healthy while having fun. Nothing better than outdoors in the sun!
My absolute favourite outdoor activity is playing soccer with my 5 year old grandson and his imaginary friend.
Whenever I actually manage to get spare time to go outside I love to sit and watch our silky chickens in the backyard, fluffy feet and flicking up the bark chips as they look for little bugs in the garden.
My favourite thing to do in the back yard
Is the same thing I enjoyed doing as a kid.
I get my kids on the trampoline
and we jump around with the water on!
We have the best time and keep cool in the
summer heat at the same time!
Preparing my garden for Spring with a mass planting of annuals for a spectacular colourful display!
My favourite backyard activity is pottering in the flower garden. While I don’t get to do it too often, I love nothing more than putting some colour into the garden, then sitting back (perhaps with a glass of something) and admiring my work. And watching the dog run around at a crazy speed while he admires the freshly mowed grass, or his freshly washed body. hehe
Yummy nibblies and a bottle of wine while the kids play in the evening. Bliss!
My favourite activity is giving my kids chalk to decorate the pavers and wooden fences outside, with their creative artwork!
Make forts 😀
Enjoying an afternoon/evening with a BBQ and a family game of backyard cricket!
Our favourite as a family is to have our family and friends over for a bbq.
The adults gathering under the gazebo with a cooler box filled with cold drinks catching up and cooling down, snacking whilst watching our kids run around in the backyard, climbing and jumping. And then enjoying out bbq meats alfresco.
Camping out on the trampoline with the kids ?
We pile the trampoline up with pillows and dooners and sleep under the stars (and eat Tim Tams!!!)

Has to be backyard cricket.
It is something that our whole family can join in.
Especially at Christmas with extended family!
Cooking a bbq and entertaining family and friends
I actually hate our backyard its a rental so I have nothing planted and the house next door has blocked most of the sunlight 🙁 so most weekends are spent at my parents house or out with friends! Mum and Dad have a great relaxing entertaining area and of course the pool. Why would I want to be anywhere else + bonus free food when ever we are there :)#thanksmum
BBQ with family and friends.
Mow the lawns, get it looking pretty then enjoy bbq’s outside with friends and family – especially now the weather is warming up!
Relaxing in the sun with a good book and drink in hand
Playing rugby league with hubby & 3 kids in the cooler months then backyard cricket in the warmer months. Lots of fun!
I love bbq’s and watching my grandbaby play
It’s gardening as we all get together and tend to our thriving vegetable and herb gardens, the kids love helping.
Teaching my daughter to ride her bike. We’ve been cooped up in an extremely small yard and now we’ve moved she has all the space she can want and with some practice she can now ride her bike training wheel free!
Enjoying a relaxing afternoon with friends while watching the kids play together, then enjoy a BBQ cooked dinner.
I love the backyard BBQ, family and friends enjoying each other’s company and having a good laugh
Rest

With our busy household of eight plus some extras we spend weekends during summer entertaining family and friends by the pool and winter around the fire toasting marshmallows.
Definately jumping on the trampoline with the 3 kids with the sprinkler rigged up on the trampoline too!
Currently I love sitting on my day bed on the verandah with a good book, whilst my three girls happily (most of the time) ride bikes, play on the swings, build ant or snail farms and generally enjoy the outdoors. Hubby is currently extending the verandah to create another deck with a pizza oven, so whilst I’m watching the girls, sometimes the dog, I love watching him create this new space.
On a cold winters day the kids and I find a warm sunny spot in the backyard for a picnic lunch!
There’s a large swimming pool in our apartment complex and all through summer it’s like an impromptu neighbourhood pool party every weekend
I really enjoy greeting new visitors to our garden. In the last week we’ve welcomed water dragons, lorikeets, bandicoots, a family of magpies, butcher birds and a green tree snake. I love Nature!
I love my gardening especially when the kids help me and it turns into a fun family activity
watching the stars at night on a picnic rug with the kids and hot chocolate. Its great to see what we can imagine the stars to be
Sitting in the garden on my awesome super amart furniture having a teddy bears picnic with my children 🙂
We love sitting around the fire pit, toasting marshmallows and talking about our favourite part of the week.
Having a BBQ with friends & family is my favourite thing to do in the backyard, especially in summer when we can enjoy the great weather with daylight savings.
Sitting down with a cuppa, watching the kids entertain themselves in the back yard. Almost NEVER happens but I love it when it does.
Well it’s seasonal play in our house! Winter footy and soccer and summer cricket and swimming! Both other seasons it’s whatever gets picked up first!
i love hanging out with my family and entertaining friends
having everyone round for a bbq, putting the outdoor lights on and relaxing by the pool.
After 7 years of saving and terrible horrible rentals that are too embarrassing to have visitors over at we have just put our dream home under contact. So we’ll be able to have friends over FINALLY for a BBQ and a swim. A LONG time coming!
After pottering in the veggie garden I love putting my feet up in the hammock soaking in the sun and reading a good book.
We blow bubbles! My two year old laughs as he chases them, trying to pop the biggest bubbles, and begging mum and dad to make more!
We are looking forward to our first spring/summer in our new home, our yard is much bigger than our last home with many outdoor areas surrounded by well established garden in which my husband, our two young children and I enjoy everything from chipping golf balls, tiggy, ball kicking and just enjoying each other’s company!!
My favourite thing to do is garden. I love to stop and smell the roses and tiptoe through the tulips, but sadly there is never enough thyme.
Veggie patch creation is our game,
Bonding the family I can claim,
May have had a freak out over getting messy,
But now there’s only smiles from little Jessie!
Playing with g pigs amd kids then all go for a dip in the pool
It’s our slice of heaven,
Where we can all unwind,
From reading a book, playing games, or for mum,
A cold crisp glass of wine.
I love sitting outside watching the kids play on the trampoline, or watch my hubby mows the lawn … and the best is always to hang out with friends and family!!
Nothing beats the annual Easter egg hunt in our back garden.
I’m having to find trickier hiding places using smaller eggs year though… those kids are getting just too smart!
we love gardening as the whole family can do it together and it is fun for all
we love gardening as the whole family can do it together and it is fun for all
Swimming is my favourite activity but we haven’t got a pool so my next best thing is Gardening, it’s relaxing and looks beautiful! 🙂
Enjoying the sunshine whilst lounging in a recliner! Usually this is joined by lazily throwing the dogs ball every time one of them bring it and drop it in my lap! Sash the pleasure of the simple things in life!
Living in the NT, we are outside more than in
We play soccer with the kids and go for a swim
Play with dog, take the turtles for a walk
Ride skateboards and play hopscotch with chalk
Outside is more fun when we are all together
We love living here, regardless of the weather!
Relaxing in a comfy chair in the backyard and reading a book.
Backyard cricket after a relaxing barbeque with great friends and family.
I like to take my coffee outside and just sit and stop for a while. I love listening to the birds, especially the Kookaburras in the back block, I find that so relaxing. At the same time watching our dog play and notice nature all around her; the ants approaching her paws, the birds flying and chirping in the trees above her. Sometimes it’s nice to be outside and to see the world as pretty.
I love watching my hubby and son jump around on the trampoline 🙂
Our favourite outdoor activity is hand feeding and playing with our 3 Orpington Chickens. They are so fluffy and my 2 year old loves the daily egg collecting too!
I love an afternoon around the pool with all the kids, the games and just the fun in the sun!
I just love sitting outside with a glass of champagne watching the kids swim in the pool and enjoying my garden.
Backyard Cricket with the neighbours with Backyard rules (over the fence = 6 and out!), followed by a bring a plate BBQ, to share the washing up.
Tall cold drink, watching the kids swim, watching my husband pretending to be the ultimate pool boy! He’s looking good!
Gaedening while the sun is shining, under my wifes watchful eye
Playing with my Grandkids in my back yard is my idea of fun,
forts and tee pees to be built and frolicking in the sun.
Vegies and flowers to be picked, memories to be made,
life lesson to be taught, I hope this Nana makes the grade.
Fairy tea parties and pirate adventures and sometimes tears,
there’s dancing, stories, happiness and even chasing away fears.
I love planting bulbs and then sitting back in the sunshine with a glass of wine watching my tulips grow and then magically burst into flower. I think its something about getting dirt under my fingernails and soaking up vitamin d.
Having breakfast outside in the mornings on our old, weathered dining chairs pretending we had a beautiful outdoor setting to relax in.
Watching my daughter jump on the trampoline – her hair wafting up, her giggles and the smiles!
My son and I love tending to the veggie patch, picking fruits and vegetables, then cooking up a barbeque feast with meats to match.
Roasting marshmallows, having a Baileys and fun around the fire pit. We are totally inspired by Sandra Bullock in The Proposal, to just let go and have fun! “From the window, to the wall….”
Our fave thing to do in the backyard together is swimming in the pool and having a BBQ, it’s relaxing and fun, to be in the sun!
Strangely it is hanging out the washing – lovely clean smelling washing for my family!
Mowing the lawn… because it always looks so GOOD after I’ve finished.
Picnic with the kids at the top of their climbing fort overlooking the garden
Getting out into the garden and enjoying the fruit and vegetables of my labours – fresh is (definitely) best.
Thanx for sharing your great tips with us.
