Craft: How to mount wooden letter to canvas

My lovely neighbour has just had a baby and using some fabric from my stash I made this gorgeous gift for her little boy’s room. My ‘use some stashed away fabric‘ challenge…complete!!

Supplies needed

  • Canvas – 15cm x 15cm
  • Fabric – 2 tones of blue
  • Staple gun with staples
  • Wooden letters
  • Spray paint – white gloss
  • Craft Glue
  • Cardstock – white 1 sheet
  • Old Tablecloth

How to make it

  1. Cut fabric 20cm x 20cm
  2. Iron fabric
  3. Lay fabric right side down
  4. Lay canvas in centre of fabric
  5. Follow these instructions HERE to staple fabric around canvas.  Instructions thanks to A Load of Craft
  6. Cut cardstock into quarters and staple to back to hide fabric edges
  7. Sand wooden letter to make a smooth finish
  8. Spray each letter remembering to get around the sides
  9. 2-3 coats should be enough for a great coverage
  10. Glue to fabric, remembering to centre
