The Best Hand Creams (As Recommended By You!)

As I’m getting older, I’ve noticed my skin is drying out more, perhaps it’s perimenopause, or maybe just the change in seasons, but I’ve found I need to put hand cream on more often than I used to. It’s become a little ritual for me: I use it every morning when I wake up, again at night before bed, and often a few times throughout the day.

My favourite at the moment is the MOR Boutique Lychee Flower Hand Cream, but it has to be this scent. I love the texture, and ooh the smell… it’s just divine. I’ve tried others by this brand, but I find they can dry my hands out a bit.

Curious to see what others love, I asked my beautiful Facebook community to share their go-to hand creams. The responses were so helpful that I wanted to put together a little list to share.

As my skin gets drier with age, I’ve found myself reaching for hand cream more often. I asked my community for their favourites, here’s what they love most.

From nourishing oils to trusted favourites, here are the most recommended hand creams to help keep your hands soft, soothed, and cared for.

The Body Shop Hemp

This one stood out as the clear favourite! Many saying it’s thick, deeply moisturising, and a little goes a long way.

100% The Body Shop hemp cream. I always come back to this! – Kama

The body shop hemp cream is amazing. Takes a while to absorb, so I use it at night. – Shannon

I’ve tried others, but nothing compares to this. It’s my winter go-to. – Katie

Aveeno

Another highly loved option, especially by those with sensitive or very dry skin. Several people noted they preferred the dark blue or dark green lid versions, and mentioned that they weren’t greasy and lasted well between uses.

Aveeno (intensive repair) is the best. I’ve tried everything because I used to have chemical dermatitis. – Casey

I love Aveeno. It even copes with a couple of hand washes before I need to reapply. – Carmen

L’Occitane

Luxurious and effective, L’Occitane was another top pick for soft hands with beautiful subtle scents.

L’Occitane cream is the best. You may pay a little more, but it does the job on dry, aged hands. – Maureen

L’Occitane shea butter hand cream is amazing! You only need a small amount. – Oscar

Jurlique

Made in Australia with natural ingredients, this brand had a few fans as well.

Jurlique is the best I’ve tried out of many over the years. – Louise

I love Jurlique at the moment. All the scents. And it’s made in Australia too. – Julia

MooGoo

Gentle and made with natural ingredients, MooGoo also received several mentions.

Love my MooGoo. – Renaye

MooGoo full cream moisturiser. No nasties, all natural! – Vicki

It might seem like a small thing, but taking a moment to pop on some hand cream can be a simple way to slow down and care for yourself. I’ve really come to enjoy this little ritual, it’s quick, comforting, and makes such a difference to how my hands feel.

If your hands have been feeling dry lately, I hope this list gives you some new ideas to try. You might even find a new favourite to keep by your bed or in your handbag like I do.

Have you used any of these? Or do you have a hand cream you absolutely love? I’d love to hear what works for you.
