BBQ Flavoured Shredded Chicken

  • 750g Chicken Breast
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green capsicum, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice
  • 1 teaspoon salt


  1. Place all ingredients into a large saucepan
  2. Cover all ingredients with water
  3. Bring to the boil, on high
  4. Once boiling reduce heat to low for 25-30 minutes, uncovered
  5. Once chicken is cooked through, remove from pan
  6. Return pan to low heat and continue cooking for a further 30 minutes or until sauce has thickened
  7. Strain sauce into jug
  8. Shred chicken and stir through sauce
