- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 teaspoon caster sugar
- 2 teaspoons (7g/1 sachet) dried yeast
- 4 cups bakers flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil, plus extra for brushing
Instructions
- Lightly grease a large bowl with oil and set aside.
- Place yeast, water and sugar into a small jug and set aside for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl add flour and salt, make a well in the centre.
- Pour in the yeast mixture and oil.
- Use a round-bladed knife in a cutting motion to gently mix.
- Use your hands to combine dough.
- Place dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
- Leave dough in oiled bowl, cover bowl with plastic wrap and set aside to prove in a warm place until doubled in size, for approx 1 hour.
- Place dough onto a lightly floured surface, knead dough briefly to knock out the air.
- Divide dough into 3 and roll out to form round pizza bases.
- Set aside for 20 minutes to rise again slightly.
- Spread desired toppings over pizza bases and bake for 20-25 minutes in a 230°C preheated oven.
