I’ve been an Amazon Prime Australia member for a few years now, and honestly, it’s one of those little things I just keep renewing without question. I first joined for the free shipping, but over time I’ve come to love all the Amazon Prime membership benefits, from fast delivery and Prime Video to the great deals that pop up during Prime Day. If you’ve been wondering what it’s really like or whether it’s worth it, I’ll share why it works so well for me and how it might help you too.

1. Free, Fast Delivery (Even From Overseas)
Free expedited delivery on eligible items Australia-wide, often arriving in just a day or two. And depending where you live can be same day service.
Free international shipping on millions of products from the US, UK, Germany, and Japan when you shop through Amazon.com.au.
Discounted Priority Delivery when you need something in a hurry.
I do most of my big-ticket shopping online now, vacuums, Kindle, tech gear as I find them cheaper on Amazon and shipping is free. But I also use it for smaller everyday items like vitamins and pantry staples, which I often find cheaper on Amazon than in-store.

2. Prime Day 2025: 8–11 July
This year Amazon has stretched Prime Day to four full days, kicking off at 12:01 am on 8 July and running right through to 11 July. Expect lightning deals to drop as often as every five minutes, plus a new “Today’s Big Deals” feature with themed drops from brands like Samsung, Kiehl’s, and Levi’s. I grabbed our robot vacuum during Prime Day last year and saved hundreds, so I’ll definitely be refreshing my wish-list again this year.
Tip: I’ll be sharing some of my favourite finds during Prime Day, so if you’re curious or planning to shop, feel free to browse through my link.

3. Entertainment on Tap
One of the most underrated parts of an Amazon Prime membership is everything you get beyond just shipping. From movies and shows to books, music and even games, there’s something for everyone in the home. We’ve made good use of these little extras over the years. They’re included in the membership and make it feel even better value.

4. Early & Exclusive Deals All Year Long
One of the Amazon Prime membership benefits I really appreciate is the 30-minute early access to Lightning Deals, plus member-only discounts on everyday essentials. I find this especially helpful around birthdays and Christmas, when I can grab gifts before they sell out or jump back up in price.

5. Simple Returns & Local Customer Support
Amazon’s returns portal is genuinely stress-free. You can either print a label at home or have one printed for you when you drop the parcel off locally. Refunds are usually processed quickly, and if anything does go wrong, I’ve always been able to reach a real person via chat within minutes.
6. What It Costs (and How to Try It Free)
Monthly: $9.99
Annual: $79 (works out to $6.58 per month)
30-day free trial: Cancel anytime if it is not for you.
I pay yearly to save a little extra, but the monthly option is perfect if you only need the Amazon Prime membership benefits during a specific season, like Prime Day or the Christmas rush.
