Book Review: The Housemaid by Freida McFadden

The Housemaid by Freida McFadden was an engaging psychological thriller with plenty of twists to keep me on edge. While I don’t have detailed notes since I read this before starting my book tracker spreadsheet, I remember feeling that the chemistry between the main characters didn’t quite land for me, which dampened some of the emotional impact. That said, the pacing and unexpected turns were gripping, making this a solid 4-star read.

The Housemaid by Freida McFadden

The Housemaid is a gripping psychological thriller that follows Millie, a young woman hired to work in an grand but unsettling home. As she navigates the strange dynamics of her employers, she begins to uncover shocking secrets that could change everything. The fast-paced narrative keeps readers guessing with its twists and atmospheric tension, even if the emotional connection between characters doesn’t always hit the mark.
