Emily Henry’s Happy Place is a heartfelt story of love, friendship, and the complications of pretending everything is fine when it’s not. While I enjoyed the humour and heartfelt moments, I found myself struggling to connect with the chemistry between the two main characters, which ultimately held me back from wholeheartedly loving it. Still, well written and an enjoyable read for fans of Henry’s signature wit and emotional depth.
It’s not about the place; it’s the people who make it a happy place.

Happy Place by Emily Henry
The story follows Harriet and Wyn, a seemingly perfect couple who, unbeknownst to their closest friends, have broken up. They find themselves pretending to still be together during an annual getaway with their tight-knit group of friends. Set against the backdrop of a picturesque coastal Maine cottage, the narrative explores second chances, the pressure to live up to expectations, and the unbreakable bonds of friendship.
