Ingredients
Meatballs
- 1kg beef mince
- 1 cup dried bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- salt and pepper, to taste
Toppings
- 1 green capsicum, sliced
- 1 x425g can chopped pineapple, reserve the juice
- 1 onion, chopped
Sauce
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 1/3 cup Worchestire sauce
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- reserved pineapple juice
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat Oven
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
Step 2: Make the Meatballs
- In a large bowl, mix together the beef mince, bread crumbs, milk, egg, salt, and pepper.

Roll the mixture into evenly sized meatballs and place them in a single layer in a lightly greased baking dish.
- Arrange the meatballs in a single layer in a lightly greased baking dish.
Step 3: Add the Toppings
- Evenly layer the sliced capsicum, chopped onion, and pineapple over the meatballs.
Step 4: Prepare the Sauce
- In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, tomato sauce, water, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, cornflour, and reserved pineapple juice.
- Stir until well mixed, then pour over the meatballs.
Step 5: Bake
- Place the baking dish in the pre-heated oven and bake for 45 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
Step 6: Serve and Enjoy
- Serve hot with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.
- Store leftovers in the fridge and enjoy the next night in fresh bread rolls for an easy, delicious meal.
