We love popcorn here, great to put into the kids school lunchboxes, a side to fruit for afternoon tea and to snack on while watching a movie!  I used to purchase the microwave popcorn packets, but have also found it’s really easy to make at home, no need for a special gadget, just need a saucepan!

I put the kernels in a brown paper bag and pop in the microwave for about 1 min 20 sec and eat straight out of the bag – no dirtying pans or containers!

I’ve been making popcorn this way for over 40 yrs when my eldest daughter started school and I wanted an economical after-school snack for her. I did have a popcorn maker for a short time but liked the saucepan method best. Always a bit hard to be careful about the butter on it though!!
