The kids will love this quick, easy and fuss-free Slow Cooker Spaghetti and Meatballs recipe – the perfect dish to serve up for a weeknight dinner! In fact you’ll love it more because it really is so simple!
This is an incredibly quick meal to throw together! The texture of the spaghetti is much like that of tinned spaghetti – which I don’t normally like – but I liked this meal, perhaps because it was just so super simple to prepare.

My hubby wasn’t much of a fan, but the kids absolutely loved it!

The ingredients in this recipe are already made, so it’s basically just a matter of placing it all into the slow cooker and turning it on.

It literally takes 5 minutes to pop everything in the slow cooker, and then I give it no more than 2 hours to bubble away. If you wanted to fancy it up, you could easily add some onions, garlic, or basil to the sauce.

The timing of this is excellent! I bought my first CrockPot today and a spaghetti dish is a great start! Just a quick question, I know I’m not suppose to ‘underfill’ the slowcooker, so when I make exactly half of this recipe (I’m cooking for 2 adults and a toddler) will it be enough for the slowcooker?
Yvette, I haven’t cooked a meal that size in my slow cooker so am not entirely sure. I would be inclined to cook the recipe as is, and freeze the left-overs to give yourself an easy night in a few weeks time. If you do halve the recipe, let me know how you go 🙂 Kat x
Bonjour i like your blog, I am italian so strange for me to see pasta cook like that..2 hours it’s really long ?
Thanks for dropping by Elena! Yes, this pasta dish probably tastes very different to what you’re used to in your culture. I love fresh pasta too! This one ends up more like tinned spaghetti, but is fabulous for an easy mid-week dinner. Kat
I will try thank you
Hi Katrina, I am keen to try this recipe. In the picture is a jar of pasta sauce, but recipe states Passata. Just checking which to use. Thanks!
Hi Bron, you can use either option in this recipe. I used pasta sauce when making mine – only because I had some on hand – but I would probably use passata next time as there’s more sauce in the bottle and it’s more affordable. Hope this helps. Kat 🙂
We gave this a go, but unfortunately it was not a winner for our family. The spaghetti became similar in texture (and taste) to tinned spaghetti, which the kids were not a fan of. It was quite bland as well, so if I could get the family to get over the “tin spaghetti” texture, I’d want to load up the dish with more herbs and spices to get some flavour in to it. I wish it was more successful, as it was super easy to throw together. Back to the drawing board!
I tried this recipe yesterday. The flavour was good, however there is way too much spaghetti. About a quarter of 500g would be better. Once I took out the excess and added a bit more liquid it was great
Thank you for the feedback Sharon – glad to hear that you enjoyed the recipe after you made those few tweaks. Kat x
I have made this twice now first as per recipe but agree with the taste and texture of spaghetti. Second time I just doubled the amount of meatballs and just cooked the spaghetti on it’s own. Added the pasta into slow cooker for the last 10 mins . Will be making again loved it.
I am so happy that you’re enjoying this spaghetti and meatballs recipe Rebecca, and thank you for sharing what worked well for you 🙂
Great thinking! I like that idea Rebecca!
