An incredibly easy and delicious Bacon and Onion Dip recipe, perfect for taking along to an upcoming party or gathering – plus it only takes minutes to prepare!

This Bacon and Onion Dip has been one of those recipes I’ve come back to time and time again. It’s creamy, savoury, and always a crowd-pleaser. I recently made it while watching the footy finals when all my kids came over, and it disappeared in no time! It’s perfect on a grazing platter with crackers, carrot and celery sticks, or slices of crusty bread.

I love that it’s made with ingredients I usually have on hand, and it only takes minutes to bring together. Whether you’re hosting friends, taking a plate to a barbecue, or just want a savoury snack for the fridge, this dip is so simple and delicious.

Tips for Serving and Storing

Keep your Bacon and Onion Dip covered in the fridge until you’re ready to serve. It will last for up to 3–4 days. I find it tastes even better the next day as the flavours have time to develop.

If you want to get ahead, cook the bacon and onion mix earlier in the day and refrigerate. Then, just stir everything together before your guests arrive.

This dip pairs beautifully with crunchy vegetable sticks, crackers, or even as a spread inside sandwiches or wraps for a punch of flavour.

Hi Kara, I have kept it in the fridge for about 5 -7 days. I have never frozen it only because i think it would separate once it was defrosted.

I just made this for the adults table at my three year old’s party this weekend – it’s fantastic! I used Parma ham instead of bacon and it worked a treat! Thank you for the recipe x

Love the dip. I usually make the Million Dollar dip which is a famous dip but this version is a little lighter with the cream cheese. I added 1/2 cup of grated cheddar and finely sliced spring onions. Now it’s a combo of the 2 dips. Tastes ? amazing.
