2 Ingredients Fruit Salad Cake

A few years ago I was giving my pantry a clean out, I had an over supply of tinned fruit (which is so easy to do!!).  I had seen a recipe on Love, Shoes and Cupcakes which was a simple 2 ingredient fruit salad cake, using tinned fruit salad and a pre-packaged cake mix…. super quick and easy! I made it again recently so updated the photos and thought I’d re-share the recipe with you.

While cleaning out the pantry I stumbled across these two ingredients, that made up this super quick and easy cake.

That’s right 2 ingredient recipe.  A 425g tin of fruit salad and a cake mix pack. I had a big tin so I used the left over fruit salad for dessert later that evening.  You don’t need to add the extra required ingredients (such as egg, butter etc), it’s just the mix and salad!

While cleaning out the pantry I stumbled across these two ingredients, that made up this super quick and easy cake.

Place cake mix and 425g of drained fruit salad in bowl, stir and pour into a round cake tin.  Bake on 180C for 30-40 minutes or until golden and skewer comes out clean.

This could even make a nice dessert cake with some cream, ice cream or custard.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 packet of cake mix
  • 425g tin of fruit salad, drained

Instructions

  1. Place cake mix and 425g of drained fruit salad in bowl, stir.
  2. Pour batter into a lined and greased round cake tin.
  3. Bake on 180°C for 35-40 minutes or until golden and skewer comes out clean.
  4. Dust with icing sugar.
