During the school holiday’s I need to put my desire for a clean tidy house aside. Whilst I like everything in order and in place I find it impossible with 3 fun-filled, over energetic children messing up the house. Instead I declare my home in ‘holiday mode’. I relax a little, not picking things up through the day, I sit back and enjoy the kids being home. Towards the end of the day before bath/dinner time I ask the kids to pick up all the cushions, toys and other belongings and put everything back into place.
If I was to do it for them they wouldn’t understand responsibility and would always take for granted that ‘mummy will do it’.
