{Giveaway} 4MyEarth – Lunch wraps and pockets

by Katrina - The Organised Housewife

This giveaway is now closed – congratulations to prize winner Wendy S.

We are celebrating The Organised Housewife winning AusMumpreneur Best Blog 2011 with a few giveaways, this is the second giveaway for the week!!

Recently our school selected a few classrooms to participate in a litter free lunchbox program.  Miss 6’s class was a part of this and she loved every morning helping me make her lunch and finding all fun ways to pack it.

Some parents found it a struggle as they pack packets of chips, tubs of yoghurt or muesli bars, each that come in it’s own packaging.  But, little do they realise this program is a great way to help them change their way’s, help decrease their grocery bill, in return looking after the enviroment by reducing litter and creating healthier food choices, as most items in packaging are full of sugar.

At 4MyEarth® aim is to help make a difference in healing our earth, starting with the little things.

4MyEarth’s reusable sandwich wraps and pockets are a convenient, non toxic and environmentally friendly alternative to plastic zip lock bags.  Use, wash (they are easy to clean), dry and use again and again.  They have a range of stylish designs.

I trailed the wraps placing bread in it the night before, sealing with the velcro strips…the following night, it was still fresh!

Reduce your grocery bill by replacing:

  • Individual packets of chips/biscuits = large packet, empty into an airtight container and only take the serving size required
  • Fruit/yoghurt tubs = can of fruit or large tub of yoghurt and spoon into container the desired serving size
  • Individual cheese = block and cut into cubes
  • Fruit bars = a handful of dried fruit

If I were a kid and found a Lunch Wrap in my lunch box I would feel so special! Goodbye to the cling wrap and hello funky!

Love the Sandwich Wraps, my husband is not a fan of cling wrap and as such will use a huge amount of alfoil to wrap his sandwiches. This would save both time and money when he makes his own lunch!

Love the sandwich wrap, am amazed no-one has thought of this before, looks easy to clean, great for the environment, saves time messing around with cling wraps, the type of personalised lunch box accomaniment that my Daughter would love! Well Done

The sandwich wrap for sure, apart from the obvious health & environmental benefits, my son would love opening a present every day!

I would like to get the value pack, but if I had to choose just one I would go the sandwich pouch. Great idea. I will be getting some for when my eldest starts school next year.

My favorite product is the stainless steel drink bottle as its stylish, practical and doesn’t change the waters taste like most drink bottles, easy to carry & lightweight.

Reply
Cartzy5 September 1, 2011 - 8:16 PM

It would have to be the stainless drink bottle, no more plastic bottles containing bpa – save our health & environment !! All Great products though.

I love the sandwich pockets. They look like a great way to avoid wasting the number of zip lock bags we go through in this household!

Reply
Jess Frisch September 1, 2011 - 8:56 PM

I have been using the pockets for ages now with the kids lunches- and have even been know to steal them on occasion myself- the pockets are great for rice crackers, bread for toast, bikkies- all great on night duty at work, and with the knowledge I am doing just that little bit to save our earth!

I like the sandwhich and snack pockets. What a great idea. The bright colours for the kids to like, and I like how I would be saving money on not having to buy zip lock bags, whilst helping the planet

I cannot decide which like more the sandwhich pockets or the lunch bags. I have spent so many $’s on plastic lunch containers to try and reduce my packaging but in the end they break and it becomes landfill anyhow. This way no landfill AND easy cleaning. Terrific idea and great product.

Jasmine September 1, 2011 - 9:27 PM

Lots of great products but I particuarlry love the lunch bags, lots of colours to choose from, my favourite is
” peace & love”

Reply
Tonyandvic September 1, 2011 - 9:45 PM

Hard to decide but i think the lunch wraps are probably my favourite. Not only do they look like giftwrap (enticing for picky eaters) but they look easy to open and the fact there is no rubbish created is awesome. 🙂

The Lunch wrap looks like it is a winner in my house. I have used enough cling wrap for my daughters lunches in the last 7 years to go to the moon and back. Brilliant idea. One of those ideas that I wished I could have come up with. 🙂

I love the sandwich wrap because I hate messing around with the cling wrap it always sticks onto itself and gets me annoyed

Reply
Siti September 1, 2011 - 10:30 PM

I love the canvas shopper bags because then I don’t end up with a bagful of plastic bags taking up space at home and never get used. At least with the canvas bags I can put it away neatly ready for my next shopping trip.

Love the snack pocket – very easy for little fingers. Our kindy is cling wrap free & I hate ziplock bags – seems such a waste for 2 biccies.

Reply

I like the Sandwich Wrap as it save on $$ and the cling film can be fidderly for the young ones plus it is like a nice little plate.

My favourite would be the stainless steel drink bottle. We swapped over to those a few years back & I couldn’t get them in Australia. I’m really glad to find somewhere local I’ll be able to replace them! I can taste the difference.

sandwich wrap is a great idea youd save money big time!

Reply
Michelle Rayner September 2, 2011 - 12:02 AM

I can only pick one thing? OH! There are awesome ideas on that site … but I guess I’d say the snack bag (in butterfly print, for my girly girl). I don’t use clingwrap on her sandwiches, placing them in a tupperwear container instead, but her snacks cause me issues (I can’t get the right sized tupperwear containers). However if I win I would definately use it ALL!

I love the snack pockets as they can be expanded for big snacks or used for little snacks too. I hate using wrap or chunky containers for the little snack I take out for my 1 year old.

Reply
Tracey September 2, 2011 - 12:36 AM

The snack pockets are great. Always looking for a small container that can fit chunkier items in! Great ideas here!

Reply
Leila Matthews September 2, 2011 - 10:55 AM

I love the sandwich wraps and snack pockets. We have plastic lunch boxes and snack containers here but they always manage to be dropped and needing to be replaced at least once a year per child… with 4 the cost goes up and i have worked out it would have been cheaper just to use sandwich bags over the last 12 months. Design wise, i’d have to go with the Butterfly, Cars, Skate Boy and Commando ones, something individual for each.

Reply
Leila Matthews September 2, 2011 - 10:56 AM

Yay it worked 🙂 Needed to swap from Chrome to IE to be able to post (for the others who were having issues posting here before perhaps try this)

I am loving the idea of the sandwich pockets and snack packets – easy for little people to manage, environmentally better than snap locks and less clutter in my handbag than a container when I (inevitably!) end up having to carry everyone’s stuff!! 🙂

Definitely the wraps and pockets – I love the Words on Navy design, and if I had to choose one to buy, I’d get the sandwich wrap (or the value pack!)
I’ve been wanting to buy some sort of reusable wrap like this for ages, but was dubious about how ‘food safe’ they really are – and so love the fact that these wraps and pockets are proven to be PVC free, Non-toxic, Heavy metal free, Phthalate free and BPA Free!! Woohoo, ticks all the boxes!

Reply
Mary Ann September 2, 2011 - 3:16 AM

love the sandwich wraps, my kids have snack wraps for the first time today. I like them because they are less bulky than containers as i always pack waste free but find their lunch bag can end up too big and heavy!

Also if she starts off using the sandwich wrap it will be what she will be use to from day 1!! Also a plus for me, no more fights with the roll of cling wrap when it gets tangled or stuck to itself and then not stuck when you are wrapping the food up!!

I adore the sandwich wraps. Have been looking for them for my children. I don’t use plastic wrap but think these would be so effective for my 4 kids to use at school 🙂
