Advertising on The Organised Housewife blog

I started this blog in August 2010, in the beginning it was just a little fun to try and help a few friends become organised and for me to share some of my recipes.  The Organised Housewife has grown into so much more than I imagined, with the highest point that I was interviewed on a Brisbane Radio Station 96five FM and have been asked to regularly offer tips and ideas next year.  I am really looking forward to what 2011 will bring for this blog….i’m so excited to be on this journey with you all!!

I am thrilled to be able to help each one of you to find better organisational solutions, create new routines and habits, plan more efficiently and most importantly create a home that’s comfortable for you.

However, maintaining the blog to this current standard, replying to comments, interacting on facebook, posting daily with informative content takes quite a bit of time to write up.  For this reason and to help pay for domain & hosting fees I am seeking sponsors to start advertising on my website.

I’m looking for:

  • Sponsors for sidebar advertising.
  • Sponsors for challenges, to offer giveaways to one lucky reader.
  • Businesses are more than welcome to send products for review and to giveaway to readers 🙂

If you are interested, please email me and I will send you a media kit with more information. Email:  [email protected]

I hope you all continue to enjoy the blog, thankyou to each one of you for reading and leaving all your wonderful comments on posts 🙂

I have been a fan of your blog. I like the time and effort you put in etc

and I get that it takes up your time and money to run this blog, but wasn't the reason for creating it in the beginning for fun? If it costs so much of your time and money why not shut it down? Why do u need to try and make money from it? Everyone is getting greedy and these days a blog isn't a blog anymore. There is some blogs with so much advertising crap on it that its not even a blog its just pages of advertising.

Hi Kate, I'm so glad you like the blog and thankyou as I do value your opinion. I agree with you, some blogs are filled with advertising, I will not place ad images within my posts, they will only be in the sidebar. I am still enjoying writing this blog, I don't want to stop, I'm thrilled to be helping people to enjoy their homes and family. I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for a small fee for advertising to help cover costs.

I wouldn't stress too much!

You are only having 4 advertisements that are quite small, and off to the side.Your blog will not be full of advertising "crap" at all.. and being a business owner who is going to be advertising in one of these spaces, I can guarantee you that my products are not "crap" 🙂

It's not unreasonable in the slightest.. in reality your time is worth A LOT more than the small amount that will be generated from the advertising spots. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to blog, I for one appreciate it, I try to blog daily but it definitely isn't easy.

Well done Katrina! That is so exciting for you. I personally LOVE 96.5 and have missed it this year as I have been out of range. I look forward to listening to your spots once I move back in a couple of weeks. Make sure you have a section (here or on your facebook page) to feature the podcasts if we (readers) miss them.

As for advertising: I say go for it. I headed down this way too (to cover hosting costs) and was a little worried if it would affect my blog. It hasn't. In fact, the way I look at it, I only accept product/services that fit into my blog style so it can be beneficial to my readers. It becomes more of a partnership (with advertisers) rather than purely a paid spot for a space on the blog. Well that is my experience.

I hope 2011 is bright and filled with a lot of opportunities for you.

I'm pretty sure they come up on the 96.5 site some time after you are on air. I know SquiggleMum (www.squigglemum.com) does it so you may like to ask her 😀
