I don’t know about you but sometimes I go to the bathroom just to have some time out away from the kids. However I don’t know how but the kids always seem to know I’m in there and this is when they want to chat or ask questions. It’s probably my own fault, when they were younger I chatted back to them, I even started the twins potty training in my bathroom, had their potties there so they could sit while I was sitting. But now they are older I want my privacy and I give me a moment, surly their question can wait 5 minutes.
I know I am probably sharing too much, but I’m not shy in sharing that I read in the bathroom, it’s a place for me to catch up on some of my favourite reading or the junk mail, good use of time I think (ooh dear, yep shared too much). Anyways, when I saw this idea below I thought I had to share it, it’s a great way to simply store your reading material in your bathroom.

no not sharing too much I do it too, I think you’d be surprised how many do do it. For me it’s where I get my piece and quiet.
LOL yes i agree Lara!.:)
Kat you are so funny, but it’s so true, I go there to get away from the kids too and low and behold they always find me, or start fighting
Oh yes Jenni i hear you! LOL It’s always the time when they need to ask you a question!
I went back to work so that I could go to the toilet in peace.
I don’t read in the loo, mainly because we only have one toilet and as sure as anything, I’ll sit down for a bit of peace and quiet to do my thing and there’s instantly a queue of people doing the special dance and demanding I hurry up.
LOL you make me laugh! Miss Maudy.:)
I take my time getting out if the car anytime that I can. The kids are usually antsy to go the the house after driving and I just let them go. Doors shut and it is quiet and the world can go away even if just for a moment. I do it a the grocery store and meetings to. As long as I am not late I can take that 5 minutes of peace.
LOL what a great idea, Terica.:) I admit i have done that too after being out in the car!
I do it too Kat, pretty often. I have an active 4 yo boy, and I find that even 5-10 minutes of reading time in the bathroom is a bliss if I could have it, coz my son also seems to find me in there…LOL. Something that I take for granted pre kid.
Marta, i am so glad i am not the only one LOL!
Ohhh I so do this!! Retreating to the bathroom is like having a break without the attached guilt us mums usually feel from having time out! I love the coat hanger mag holder thingy, what a fab idea 🙂
LOL so many of us think the same! I love the coat hanger mag idea too, works so well.:)
Any spare minute we can reclaim for ourselves is very worthwhile I say. After looking at my out of shape nails for days on end, I finally filed my nails and took off my polish….. On the loo! Gotta get creative when you’re time poor!
LOL i love it Mel!.:) Absolutely i agree with you no time like the present!
