Declutter 52 things in 52 weeks - Task 9

Crockery and serving dishes

When we started this Declutter 52 Things in 52 Weeks Challenge I listed in my ‘Set my Goals’ that the most disorganised cupboard in my home is my crockery cupboard.  This is one of the most used cupboards in the kitchen, the bottom shelf was really hard to get to and I found that the family and I were becoming lazy and would just push things in wherever it could fit.  But reality was, that most of the items on the bottom shelf weren’t being used.  I had a beautiful dinner set that was given to us as a wedding gift, but it was a set of 4, we could no longer use it as we are a family of 5.  I don’t know why I didn’t remove it from this cupboard sooner.  I didn’t get rid of it, as it could be nice to use one day, however it’s in a cupboard that is rarely used.  I’ve decided that only the items that I use frequently need to be in this cupboard.

My crockery cupboard before…. In tomorrow’s post I will share with you how I have re-organised my crockery cupboard.

Todays task is to:

Purge all crockery and serving dishes that you don’t use.  Or if you rarely use them, but want to keep them, put them in another cupboard and use this cupboard for items you only use frequently.

How many items have you been able to purge today?

I would like to see a photo of your purge pile on Instagram, use the hashtag #declutter52
