Extra Boxes
My darling husband is a box hoarder, he keeps boxes and packaging for just about everything, boxes like for phones/ipads, xbox, toys, tools etc. I understand his theory though, he keeps the boxes just in case the product is faulty and it needs to returned it can be returned as a whole. But sometimes these boxes just start to accumulate and take up so much room. I was very proud of him recently he went through his ‘box collection’ and purged them all to create more room in our office cupboard! Sadly though I don’t have pile of boxes picture to share with you.

Todays task is to:
Go through any boxes/packaging you may have been holding onto and assess if you need to be still holding on to them.

I keep some boxes because we rent. That way, if we have to move at the end of our lease, I know things like the xbox can be packed into it’s original box and transported in the safest way. Most boxes get recycled around here 🙂
Hi, a noble idea, but shouldn’t this task be kept for the correct day I. The Christian tradition? Decorations go up at the start of Advent and come down on the Twelfth day of a Christmas, the Epiphany, Monday the 6th this year.
I love reading your blog, but I am fed up with traditions being followed incorrectly.
Thanks
Hi Shivs, each family have their own traditions and ways, in ours we always take down Christmas decorations on the 27th or 28th December, my lovey husband does this as my birthday is shortly after and as memories of my childhood having Christmas and birthday combined this is something I truly love him for to seperate them both.
Hi Shivs, WOW you’re packing quite a punch there. I believe these days whatever religion you follow, traditions are a personal choice & not really for anyone to dictate to another. My decorations are already sorted, restocked & packed away ready for next year. As we know, Christmas was never really about decorations or when they go up & come down. Stay proud of yourself however for sticking with your own traditions & beliefs ??????????

i purge stuff all the time. But some boxes are worth keeping. I keep boxes for devices such as iPads and iPods – if you sell them when you update or don’t use them anymore you usually get a better price if it’s in the original box.
Don’t get me wrong and use this as an excuse to hoard- 99% of the boxes are recycled immediately.
Best blog ever, I follow it religiously, love viewing everyday, have been incredibly motivated and inspired. Thank you thank you. Keep up the good work..
im a dreadful box hoarder too. I think I need to get that sorted out
I once too was a box hoarder. I have now since realised that the less cardboard boxes we have in the house, the less cockroaches we have! They love the cardboard and paper hence a very good reason to minimise the amount of cardboard and paper in the house!
That’s a great tip Eleanor and good reason to unpack all the boxes to keep the cockroaches away.
Inspired by you, I bought one of those racks from Big W to keep lids in – brilliant idea!
That’s great to hear, it’s so very useful!!
Ah – a little moment of panic there, as this week will challenge me. I guess. I’m somewhat of a box hoarder too.?
Good luck Cyndee! 🙂
