My definition of purge – sell, donate, repurpose or throw away items as you see fit
Office Desk
I always like to start the new year with a clean desk. I actually can’t concentrate very well when it’s messy. Anyways… around this time of year I go through my inbox and empty it, so when I start work again shortly after the new year it’s a fresh start. It’s also a great time to reassess your goals and update a vision/inspiration board you may have.
Todays task is to:
Without making this task too big lets just start small.
- Divide the paperwork on your desk into the following piles, (these are enough for our quick tidy up), not forgetting to recycle and throw any paper as you go:
- to-do
- file
- read
- bills
- receipts
- Create a to-do list based on your to-do pile, as you find little notes of things to do add them to your to-do list so that all your things to do are together
- File away everything in the file pile (just in the file pile, nothing else as we are only wanting to clear your desk)
- Anything that needs reading, put it next to your computer, your lounge chair or on your bedside table so you can read it the next time you have a few spare minutes
- Create an organised system for your bills and receipts
- Tidy your cork board/inspiration board
