For the remainder of the week we are catching up on the Declutter 52 Things in 52 Weeks Challenge. However typically a new Decluttering task will be published on the blog each Tuesday. I will share a link to the task on facebook and in the Tuesday Daily Task newsletter (subscribe to newsletter here).

My definition of purge – sell, donate, repurpose or throw away items as you see fit
Kids book and DVDs
My kids are now a little older and we have quite a few books that they have outgrown, I’ve needed to do this task for quite awhile. I kept some of the younger books for the kids to learn to read from. Today’s I’m purging quite a few books but will keep some here to read to my niece.
A reader asked this question to our community recently, this was her question:
I am stumped as to how to organise the DVD library at our place. We have 100’s of them, literally. We have portable cases of them to take in the car, we have a bookshelf full of them, we have them in DVD players, on top of the players, in draws. There are empty cases everywhere too, and if you want to find a specific movie – good luck! No hope, case is empty, it could be in the car, house or dvd or on the floor or in a draw???? I would like a system to store them that will:
1. Keep them neat and contained
2. Allow to find a Title that you want easily
3. Allow to be portable to take in car
4. Keep toddlers separate?
Please help me with my challenge ~ Jo.
You can read all the different ideas given to Jo here.
Todays task is to:
Sort through all your kids books and DVD’s and purge all those they no longer read or watch.
How many items have you been able to purge today?
I would like to see a photo of your purge pile on Instagram, use the hashtag #declutter52
