We are on a roll to declutter, so far we have turned coathangers ready to declutter clothes in 6 months time and purged a few extra soft toys.  I am trying to catch up with a few tasks over the next week or so, so then we can have 1 task posted each week for the remainder of the year.

Here is a list of some of the declutter challenges we had last year:

  1. Declutter your kitchen bench
  2. Sort through the kids toys
  3. Use items from pantry
  4. Use fabric from your stash
  5. Throw away old cleaners
  6. Get rid of craft supplies you won’t use
  7. Organise old food magazine recipes
  8. Throw 5 from your handbag
  9. Throw away all kids tried textas
  10. Throw away 10 from your office drawer
  11. Throw away 10 things decluttering your kitchen

The most popular was throw 5 from your handbag, which I will challenge you to do in the next few weeks again.

Today’s task is to declutter your coffee table:

We don’t have a coffee table, we moved it out of the lounge room when the twins were born as it’s made from granite and more than likely they may have bumped their little heads on it.  8 years on and we love not having a coffee table in front of the lounge, giving us room to lie on the floor and stretch.  But a coffee table is definitely a hot spot for clutter, like:

  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Books
  • Junk Mail
  • Cups
  • Dishes
  • you get the idea

Today I would like you to remove any excess item’s you have on your coffee table.  Glance at your magazines and decide if you really need to keep them.  Perhaps rip out the recipes you want to cook sometime soon and store them like suggested HERE.  Get a basket and place underneath the coffee table to help store all your excess magazines and books neater.

See if you can challenge yourself to have a spotless clean coffee table.
