by Katrina - The Organised Housewife

For many families dinner is a time to bring the family together and provides an opportunity for conversation.  Here we have the weeks dinner planning tips to help you get started to prepare for the week ahead so you can take the stress out of the week and enjoy that time together with your loved ones. Katharine has shared her meal plan for the week and says being prepared and organised is why she enjoys meal planning as well as saving money as they have less takeaways and generally healthier.

According to The Passionate Penny Pincher, October is “Crocktober”. I’m not in love with my “vintage” slow cooker’s results at this point, so I’m doing two experiments this week and then it might be time to retire the old pot and find a new one. I’ve outlined my planned experiments here: http://beyondmypicketfence.blogspot.com.au/2017/10/monday-and-menu-planning.html

My plan for the week:
Monday: Slow cooker chicken enchiladas (Miss Sunshine will be so excited; she loves Mexican)
Tuesday: Crustless Quiche & veggies (Miss Sunshine to cook, as I’m out)
Wednesday: Veggie Plate
Thursday: The kids will have leftovers, while hubby and I are at our school associations EGM, for dinner
Friday: Fend for yourself Friday
Saturday: Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork, coleslaw
Sunday: Zucchini soup and bread rolls
I want to try pumpkin bars as well, with lemon butter cream icing instead of cream cheese icing. Because I can’t be bothered going back to the supermarket a third time. I think lemon butter cream will be a perfectly fine alternative.
All the links to Crockpot recipes are on my blog post (link above)
Happy dining!
