WEEKLY KETO MEAL PLAN #5

A seven day Keto family friendly meal plan to inspire some low-carb dinners for the coming week.

This week’s family meal plan has been contributed by a lovely community member, Jane. Her family is currently eating a low-carb or keto diet. I have shared some keto inspired meal plans previously on the blog. Whilst I don’t follow a keto diet personally, I would happily include a lot of the recipes below in my meal plans anytime. I love hearing about what sort of dinners other families eat, it inspires me to add some variety to my menu! There’s even a keto friendly choc chip cookie recipe below if you’re in the mood to do some baking this week.

BENEFITS OF MEAL PLANNING

Each week I plan my meals for the following week, this is called meal or menu planning. Some think it’s not worth it, but it really is a simple task that takes 5-10 minutes to plan one week of meals. The money and time that these five minutes save me throughout my week, makes it well worth the effort.

MONDAY

Keto fish and chips – An almond flour crumb mix on the fish pieces sounds absolutely delicious. The recipe calls for jicama for the chips, which isn’t commonly available in Australia. If you did want to try it, you might find some at a good quality fresh produce store. Otherwise substitute it for sweet potato!

TUESDAY

Ginger-Soy Beef Skewers & Zucchini Salad – this recipe sounds like it will pack a flavour punch. A delicious ginger-soy marinade on the beef skewers, served with a zucchini and tomato salad topped with the crunch of cashews.

WEDNESDAY

Keto chicken coconut curry with broccoli rice – A creamy coconut curry that the whole family will love. Plus it is gluten free and keto friendly!

THURSDAY

Cauliflower Crust Shepard’s Pie – This shepard’s pie recipe has a cauliflower topping instead of the more traditional potato mash. All the extra veggies in this dish is a great way to up your nutrient intake for the day!

FRIDAY

Keto Cobb Salad – Cobb Salads were keto before anyone even was talking about keto. This one with blue cheese and a ranch dressing looks delicious.

SATURDAY

Corn and Tuna Sweet Potatoes – Baked sweet potatoes stuffed with a tuna, corn and egg mix and topped with cheese sounds absolutely delicious!

SUNDAY

Grilled Jerk Chicken Burgers – Spicy and flavoursome chicken burgers that skip the bun and use lettuce leaves instead.

BAKING

Keto Chocolate Chip Cookies – thick, chewy cookies made with coconut and almond flour. Just because you’re eating low carb doesn’t mean you can’t sneak in a treat or two.
