Plan out this week’s meals to save time, stress and money! Here are some budget-friendly family recipes to enjoy this week.

What’s on the menu for this week? Taking a moment to plan it out will mean you can make one shopping list, shop once and always be able to answer that question, ‘What’s for dinner?’


Each week I plan my meals for the following week, this is called meal or menu planning. Some think it’s not worth it, but it really is a simple task that takes 5-10 minutes to plan one week of meals. The money and time that these five minutes save me throughout my week, makes it well worth the effort.


Minced Beef Fried Rice – This 20 minute meal is quick to make and sure to please even the fussy ones. 


Gluten-free Lightly Dusted Fish and Chips – No one will know this gluten free! Delicious and quick to make, it’s the ideal fakeaway.


Chicken Tzatziki Bowls – Bowls make perfect mid-week meals! This one looks so yummy.


Recipe – This is one of my favourite dinner recipes for nights when I’m a bit strapped for time – this meal can literally be thrown together in less than 20 minutes! I top it with bacon for the meat eaters in the family, but my vegetarian daughter just tops it with some parmesan and chopped parsley.


Hot dogs – Grab some buns and hot dogs from the supermarket, heat and top with your favourite sauce.


Healthy Teriyaki Chicken – I love this Healthy Teriyaki Chicken with Vegetables and Noodles recipe. It’s honestly so fast and easy to make and everybody likes it (winning!)


Matt Wilkinson’s lamb, carrot and harissa pies – who doesn’t love a Sunday night pie? This recipe is flavoured with middle-eastern spices.


Banana Chocolate Energy Balls – These healthy Banana Chocolate Energy Balls are delicious, soft, and nut-free, making them perfect for school lunches or after school snacks.
