Shredded chicken is brilliant to keep in the fridge for sandwiches and salads, or keep some in the freezer to quickly add to a pasta bake for an easy dinner. It’s cheaper than buying it from the deli so is a great budget-friendly way to keep the family fed through the week!

I have poached and shredded chicken in a variety of ways, and the Thermomix is one of the easiest.

Shredded chicken has a variety of uses – you can serve it with salad, in wraps and sandwiches, on pizzas and more. It can also be frozen and added to a pasta bake style meal for an easy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 litre water
  • small handful of desired herb (I used basil)

Instructions

  1. Add water, garlic and herb to thermomix mixing bowl
  2. Slice Chicken breast in half (like a schnitzel)
  3. Place in the top basket of Varoma
  4. Cook on Varoma / 20 minutes / speed 2

  1. Discard contents from bowl and wash
  2. Add chicken to bowl
  3. Shred reverse / 4 seconds / speed 4
