I have been watching the block every night since it started, I love renovating shows. I have enjoyed watching all the fun, decorating and effort that each of the couples have put into their rooms. I have found in previous years some contentants have the same style taste with room reveals being very similar, but this year shows how individual the couples styles are. Below are my top winning rooms with details on where you can get some of my favourite pieces:
Bedroom 1
I didn’t think I was going to like Josh and Jenna’s style, but I did love this room. The bed made a great statement and I love the shabby chic feel.
Suppliers:
Bed – Adairs – Claremont Queen Size – antique white
Cushions – Fenton & Fenton – Turquouise cushion
Wall colour paint – Wattyl – Snowdonia ¾ strength low sheen
Bedroom 2
Rod and Tania’s room was my favourite this week. Although, I am definatley not a fan of the shag flooring. This boys room feel very homely and really like the use of their 2nd hand items.
Suppliers:
As this was 2nd hand week most of the items have been found at local 2nd hand shops, auctions, cash converters or ebay.
Bathroom
I struggled with deciding between Rod and Tania and Polly and Waz’s rooms this week. However, I really didn’t like Rod and Tania’s basin, not functional for a family and was wasting space below which would of been great for storage. So this week’s winner goes to Polly and Waz. I do hope they move the plant away from the loo before auction day. The clever use of space above the sink for drying clothes is a fantasitc idea.
Suppliers:
Laundry Powder tin – Bed Bath n Table
Master Bed and Ensuite
I really like the little office nook that Rod and Tania created in the upstairs area. Every house needs and office and look area looks comfortable enought to work in. The use of mirrors on the wardrobes makes this small room appear larger.
Suppliers:
Unfortuantley I can’t find out where they brought this gorgeous wooden love letters from, very sweet matches the room beautifully.
Living Room
Hands down to Katrina and Amy, I love the unit they created around the TV, a great use of space to store decorative items. I really like the floor lamp, very stylish
Suppliers:
Lamp – Beacon Lighting – Cyclops Floor Lamp
Lounge – Keeki – Madeleine 3 Seater
Built-in cabinet – Darragum Cabinets
Kitchen
This week was a hard choice. I really didn’t like the wood like finishes found on some kitchen doors, reminded me of a caravan. A mirror in a kitchen is a turn off, I could imagine how hard it would be to keep clean. I reallly did like Rod and Tania’s kitchen but was dissappointed it didn’t have a dining table, just something little would of been great to see. However despite this Rod and Tania caught my attention this week, I would love to renovate my kitchen to something similar.
Suppliers:
Kitchen – Freedom Kitchens
Benchtop – Freedom Kitchens
Espresso Machine – Clive Peeters- Delonghi Lattissima, Premium Coffee Machine
Outside
Clearly you can see who my favourite couples are, again I loved their outdoor area. The backyard is a perfect haven for entertaining and most favouirte feature…no not the spa…is the window between the kitchen and outdoor sink.
My favourite’s to win
Rod and Tania, they are such a lovely couple. I didn’t hear many if any disagreements in the show, they both worked so well together and I love their style. Wishing you both the best of luck on auction day!
Tune in 6.30pm Sunday August 21st to see The Block Finale, followed by the new season of Underbelly.
