Soon Elf on the Shelf will arrive into many homes. Elf is really mischievous while the kids are sleeping, turning milk green, spilling cereal over the bench or one of my favourites is writing on lipstick that the bathroom is messy. The kids have so much fun finding him each morning. Here are some of the antic ideas I have shared over the past few years.
The 2014 Organise Yourself a Merry Little Christmas series starts next week, I will share more elf antic ideas within the series.

The Elf Planner is filled with 1 month of antic ideas, pages to encourage the kids to write and draw about their elf stay, 30+ notes from Santa and Elf to be left alongside Elf each night, letters from Santa and Elf, a list of suggested elf names and pages to help improve and acknowledge good and bad behaviours. Because… Elf returns to the North Pole each night and let’s Santa know if they are being naughty or nice!! Some pages within this planner are editable where you can add your child’s and Elf name, see more details in description below. Please open file on your computer, not on mobile devices.

Just a little silly question, when exactly does the elf do their little antics, is it while the children are asleep.. sorry I’m a newbie to this starting this December
We have our elf, but I have confused myself as when he goes back to the northpole at night, but when do the antics happen
ie – after he’s come back or during the day ??
Cheers Kim
Hi Kim, No not a silly question at all. Yes we put him out when the kids have gone to bed then they find him the next morning and he “disappears” throughout the day (back to the northpole) ready to start again that night.
Our little one usually goes to bed and then the Elf reports to Father Christmas. Later that night when he returns he creates a little mischief. On waking our little one then has to find the elf. Hope this helps.
Fantastic Sarah.:)
This might be a silly question but do any adults touch the elf? The story says you can touch him and some of the ideas mean he needs to be left in that spot all day.
Lauren, No not a silly question at all. I guess everyone have their own personal ideas on how they do elf on the shelf. We personally put him out once the kids have gone to bed and once they wake up in the morning they find him and then throughout the day he “disappears” back to the north pole!
