Organised school hair area + hairstyles for school

by Katrina - The Organised Housewife

I have two girls and I LOVE styling their hair each day for school.  In the beginning it was fun, however now it’s important to style it in a way, either braid or pulled back and tidy to stops the nits!

I use the drawers in our TV cabinet to store all the girls hairties, headbands etc.  There will come a time when they are older that I am sure this will all move to the bathroom or their bedroom.  I have a seat next to the drawers which gives me easy access to everything I need when doing their hair:

  • Brush – that doesn’t break the hair
  • Comb – Rattail comb for easy parting of hair
  • Detangler/Water bottle – helps make the hair easier to manage when brushing. Read here how to make home-made detangler
  • Hairties
  • Headband
  • Hairspray

I organise the hair ties by colour… because I’m OCD like that, makes it easier in the morning to get which ever colour we need.  I have repurposed old decor containers that I used to use in the pantry, they fit perfectly into these drawers.

Hairstyles for girls at school

As I mentioned above, I like to style my girl’s hair so all their hair is tied up or in a plait. Here are a few hairstyles
