About Flora and Fauna

Flora and Fauna is an Australian brand platform that sells items that are friendly and kind to the planet and animal life. Their purpose is to make consumers aware of better choices available to them that are eco-friendly and animal cruelty-free. 

The concept began in July 2014 and launched in November of the same year in Galston, New South Wales. Thirty brands and around 500 products, all beauty and skincare related, were the first items to be featured on the platform, but the range has expanded to include fashion, food, homeware, and health products. Today you can get everything from a Flora and Fauna beauty box to hand sanitiser,  deodorant, essential oils, hair dye, jewellery, a pela case, sunscreen, toothpaste, even a compost bin, and many other unique items. 

Founders, husband and wife team Julie and Tom, run the company as a 100% privately-owned Australian business. They saw a gap in the market for ethically made and sourced products and set their business around this concept.  Flora and Fauna reviews are positive because they’ve made efforts to source ethical, eco-friendly, organic and vegan skincare, makeup, home, food, fashion, and lifestyle products available. The range now includes over 6,000 products and over 270 brands.

In July 2019, the first physical Flora and Fauna shop opened in North Rocks, and in October 2019 the online platform was launched along with the addition of the option to use a Flora and Fauna discount code. Recycling Program 

Flora and Fauna are firm believers in closing the loop so their products have an end to their life which isn't the landfill. Much of their product packaging can be composted or recycled but a lot of beauty packaging isn't easily recyclable so their recycling program helps solve that problem.

You return your plastic beauty packaging to Flora and Fauna and they will collate and separate it all. They will then pay TerraCycle to recycle this for them. Plus, in exchange for returning your beauty packaging to Flora and Fauna, they will credit your Flora & Fauna account AU $10 for being planet-friendly and helping the environment.

In collaboration with The Legware Co. Sustainable Hosiery Initiative, Flora and Fauna will take your old tights, Laundry Refill Pouches, old Pela Phone Cases, and they now take blister packs (including Webster packs, excluding cytotoxic medication packs). Flora and Fauna accept bread tags, glass nail polish bottles (as empty as possible), metal safety razors (not blades), old Onya products, and silicone products that they currently sell (excluding menstrual cups).

Free Click and Collect 

Did you know Flora and Fauna offers click & collect as a delivery option? So if you would like to pick up your item from their warehouse in North Rocks, NSW, you are very welcome to do that and they would love to say hello.

When you enter your postcode at checkout, if you are in a Sydney suburb, it will appear as an option. Click & Collect is free, but please don't select Click & Collect if you don't intend on picking your parcel up, it will sit there gathering dust. If you decide you would prefer to have it shipped, call Flora and Fauna and they can take payment for delivery over the phone. 

Once you've placed your order you will receive a notification when it is ready to pick up, usually the same or next business day. If it is urgent let them know by email or telephone and they can prioritise that for you. 

The opening hours are: Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 5.30pm Friday 7.30am to 4pm Saturday 9am to 3pm

Afterpay  

Found something you can't live without, but don't have all the funds on hand to pay in full today? You can buy now and pay later with Afterpay. It is really simple to use Afterpay, just choose it as your preferred payment method and you will be directed to Afterpay's external website where you can sign in to your account and your payment will be processed.

This means that your payment will be split into four equal fortnightly instalments. Your first instalment will be processed two weeks from the date which you first place your order and you will receive friendly reminder emails from Afterpay prior to the funds being taken each fortnight.

If you request a refund on an order which has been paid for using Afterpay, they will reimburse you for any funds you have already paid and then cancel any outstanding payments. This can sometimes take a few days to process, so if you have an upcoming payment rest assured that it will be refunded if any funds are taken in the meantime.

Flora and Fauna free shipping applies to all orders over AU$50. For orders valued at under AU$50, a flat rate fee of AU$6.95 applies. Express delivery costs AU$10, for which the goods will arrive at your doorstep within 1-2 business days. 

International delivery starts at AU$10 – AU$15 depending on your location. 

Flora and Fauna returns are acceptable on most products, provided they are returned in the original condition as they were bought and have not been used, opened or had the seal broken.
