While you are cleaning your curtains and blinds you may want to clean the window sills, tracks and fly screens as well.
HOW TO CLEAN WINDOW TRACKS
Supplies
- I use a toothbrush or this Track Cleaning Brush
- Vacuum cleaner using small nozzle
- Spray bottle with water and mild detergent
- Old sock or rag
- Wooden kebab stick or toothpick
How to
- Vacuum tracks picking up all loose dirt and insects
- Loosen any hard dirt using brush or Track Cleaning Brush
- Use the kebab stick to loosen and stubborn dirt in corners (not needed if using the Track Cleaning Brush)
- Vacuum again
- Spray in track, use rag to wipe clean
HOW TO CLEAN FLY SCREENS
Security Screens
- Place a towel underneath window to prevent floor for getting dirty
- Use a bucket of warm soapy water and wash screens
- Rinse with clean water
- Screens can be vacuumed regularly to pick up dirt and dust
Regular Fly Screens
- Remove fly screen
- Lay against fence, wall or lay flat on ground
- Using garden hose on high pressure wet screen removing loose dirt particles
- Use a bucket of warm soapy water and wash screens
- Use garden hose to rinse
- Allow to dry
CLEANING WINDOW SILLS
Wipe window sills with warm soapy water give a wipe over with a clean dry cloth
