Learn how to clean blinds effectively and maintain a clean, fresh home. Discover tips to prevent mould growth and avoid damaging your blinds.
Dusting is not my favourite thing. And I admit I don’t do it as often as I should. Although, cleaning blinds is essential for maintaining a clean and healthy home. Dust and dirt from the outside can easily settle on blinds and shutters when windows are left open, especially during the wet season. If not properly cleaned, these particles can accumulate and even lead to the growth of mould spores on the blinds.
When it comes to cleaning blinds, it’s important to be mindful of the materials they are made of. Using excessive amounts of water can cause wooden blinds or shutters to swell and stain, compromising their appearance and durability.
To effectively clean blinds without causing damage, please use methods such as dry dusting or using a cleaning spray lightly spritzed onto a cleaning cloth. Regular cleaning will help prevent the buildup of dust, dirt, and potential mould growth as well as creating a fresh and clean home.
Kat’s Tip:
I like using this blind duster as it cleans the top and the bottom of the slats in one swipe. Saves so much time. And it’s machine washable too.
