Does your cute and cuddly pet shed all over your lounge? Especially during shedding season (which in our household feels like all year round). When we got Zoe I was adamant that she wasn’t allowed on the couch. But you know how it goes… we watch TV and she just wants to be next to us, or on us… it’s so cute but she leaves fur everywhere! I have a little rug on one of the seats on the lounge that is where she is ‘supposed’ to sleep. But this is not always the case.
I clean the couch each week with the vacuum, but throughout the week I grab a silicone glove and it magically picked up all the hairs…. so then we don’t have animal fur on our backsides at school and work!
Below are some quick and easy ways to get pet hair off the lounge, bed, clothes and curtains.
1. Vacuum
Vacuuming is one of the most common ways to get rid of pet hair. These days vacuums come with a brush attachment to better grip onto the pet hair. Move it in opposite directions to make sure you get all of the pet hair into the vacuum. You can also buy pet hair specific vacuums which makes it easier to get the job done.
2. Silicone Gloves
The silicone glove works wonders for gathering pet hair, run the glove over the surface, the friction between the glove and the fabric creates a static energy picking up pet hair into the bristles, no additional cleaning supplies are needed!
3. Lint Roller
Lint rollers are great to remove pet hair off fabric based surfaces. Once the lint roller is fuller, just remove the sticky bit and attach a new one.
4. Damp Sponge
You can remove pet hair off a couch with a slightly damp sponge. Make sure you wring it out well and simply run the sponge over the pet hair.
5. Squeegee
A squeegee is commonly used on windows and shower screens, however, if it has a solid rubber based end, it will grip pet hair when you run it over the couch or carpet.
