My kids love the addition of fruit leather to their lunchbox or to have as an after school snack.  I don’t see the need to add any sugar or further flavours, they are delicious just as simple pureed fruit.  I use the oven to cook my fruit leathers, takes between 3-4 hours.  Alternatively you could use a dehydrator.

Apple Fruit Leather

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 apples
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven on lowest temperature
  2. Line baking tray with baking paper
  3. Peel and chop apples into small cubes
  4. Place apple in saucepan with water, bring to the boil then simmer for 10 min or until soft.
  5. Pour apple mixture into blender or food processor and blitz until smooth.
  6. Spread evenly over baking tray
  7. Bake in oven for 4 hours

Notes

I used granny smith apples, but you could use whichever variety you like

  • 150g water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven on lowest temperature
  2. Line baking tray with baking paper
  3. Peel, core and cut apples into quarters
  4. Chop, 20 seconds / speed 4
  5. Add water, cook 90 degrees / speed 4 / 9 minutes
  6. Blend, speed 9 / 30 seconds
  7. Spread evenly over baking tray
  8. Bake in oven for 4 hours
