I have a way i keeping my daughters drawings. She is a prolific drawer to the point of being rediculous! I HAD to come up with something for my own sanity! I take a snapshot on my phone of her drawings when she brings me one she is really proud of, or if i see one that i have to preserve! then i upload them to Bigw online or harvey normans photos centres and have a soft cover book printed every 6 or so months. they cost about $10 and there are always 2 for 1 deals or better. they make great gifts and you can click on the automatic upload if you dont care what order things are in and voila! you have a teeny book that takes up no space on your bookshelf which also makes great gifts for grandparents (especially those who live far away like ours). The other thing you can do is get them to choose their absolute faves and make up a story that goes with the picture. then you create an actual story and picture book which makes them feel so proud to see it "in print". The actual drawings i then use to wrap gifts and of course, frame some of them or cover storage boxes with them.

Like Emmap 73, I use the back of the kitchen bench for display, but I've also taken pic's of my kids art work (particularily the 'special' items) and also a picture of the kids on that day (often proudly holding their creation). Then I've used the digital pics in scrapbooking albums to show their (developmental) progress throughout the year and also their (physical) growth. I generally use Snapfish to create the albums (aprox $20 per album, 20-150pgs). The finished book becomes a record of that year including school photo's, birthday, Christmas, & other special occasions for each child (one album per child tho there is often a bit of overlap). The kids are happy to part with their masterpieces (once they've been on the wall for a little while) after I've shown them the pictures I've taken.

This is so gorgeous, I have a couple of the big coloured Ikea frames that I put their large paintings in on butchers paper, just cut down a little to fit. I'll commission my own little artists everytime! I'll have to try the picture wall in my toy room also, love it.
