Lynne, my older boy has the top of a bunkbed with a timber board covering the frame (rather than a mattress) – it’s up away from the littlies and he loves his own time/space

@ bec, thanks for the idea, great solution. My biggest problem is a 15 mth old getting in the way of the big brother who is 11. When he is building (he is autistic) so it causes a lot of problem. He is very particular about the way things are done. He even has every piece colour coded, lol.
