{Cleaning task} Clean under your floor rugs

clean under floor rugs

Today I want you to get your vacuum cleaner out and clean under all your floor rugs.

  1. Vacuum the top of the rug
  2. Roll up the the rug and move it away from the area to clean.  Folding will cause it to crease.
  3. Vacuum and mop the floor where the rug was sitting.
  4. Lay rug upside down.
  5. Vacuum the bottom of the rug.
  6. Put rug back in place, however rotate the rug 180 degrees, this will help it wear evenly.

When was the last time you cleaned under the rug?

I never clean under my rug – it’s too damn heavy to move!! But will give it a go today :)

Love your blog by the way!

      How did you go Kylie?

We quite often do this! Amazing the amount of fine sand, dirty etc that makes it through onto our timber floors.

I am actually getting rid of one of our rugs this week. It is tan, chocolate and black and looks unvacummed within hours of vacuuming it! I am fed up as it makes the lounge room look messy.

That will leave us with one rug in the kids lounge room. It is the same colours but has a busy pattern on it that hides the fluff etc With a baby still doing tummy time, I will need a rug for this winter. Next year it will be gone!!!

Aaw, I love babies. Yes keep the rug, it warms a room up through winter too.

I have two rugs. A car mat in the family room that gets vacuumed under it every day as it gets moved around lots and a large one in the main lounge that only got done at the end of last week as we had a rearrange in there Yay!!!

      I love rearranging, fun!!

My main mat is stuck to the floor with the stuff to help it not move around and the corners from sticking up – so I can’t pull up the mat.

That’s a great idea Hayley, stop it from moving.
