Cleaning the dirty bathroom sink drain

This is the final week of Bathroom tips, so I am going to try to fill it with all my bathroom organising and cleaning ideas for you.  Today’s task is to clean below the bathroom sink plug area.  I try to clean this area once a week/fortnight, as it’s where I am looking every time I clean my teeth, I prefer it to be clean.  As you can see below the pipe can get very grotty.

CLEANING THE DIRTY BATHROOM SINK DRAIN I try to clean this area once a week/fortnight, as it's where I am looking every time I clean my teeth, I prefer it to be clean.

How to clean the Bathroom sink

  1. Remove the drain cover (to remove, put finger in hole and lift out, or push old toothbrush through and lift).
  2. Give the drain cover a good clean with an old toothbrush, bicarb and vinegar (or bathroom cleaner)
  3. Using old toothbrush give inside the drain a really good scrub removing all mould build up
  4. Replace cover and clean around the top of the plug hole.

Note:  If you have stubborn build up around the top area try removing it with a toothpick.
