If you have been following along on Instagram and Facebook you would have read that I’m starting on a new diet and a positive change to live a healthier life. In doing so I have given up all caffeine, that’s no coffee and no coke for me, I used to have 2 of each, each day. Today is day one with nothing and I must admit my head is throbbing. Instead I will be trying to drink a lot more water. They say that 8 glasses is recommended (does depend on your glass size though, 2L is suggested), so I created a printable to help me keep track of how much I have drunk each day.

I’ll laminate this and using a marker to cross off as I fill a glass of water. Then each evening using my clever ‘whiteboard cleaning technique‘ I’ll clean it ready for the next day.

Do you drink as much water as you should?

It’s been a fun fortnight sharing with you some ideas on how I organise my pantry. There is so much more to share, however I have to wrap it up here as the following weeks will be the starting the ’20 days to Organise and Clean your home’ Challenge.

Here is a round up of all the pantry organising posts

We started the pantry series with not comparing your standard to others, it doesn’t need to be perfect, just to the standard you are happy with.

see more details here

We then cleared the pantry and gave it a good clean. I shared a video of all the storage solutions I use in my pantry

see more details here

We purged outdated spices

see more details here

I found some icecream cones that needed using, so I baked a cupcake in them.

see more details here

I wanted to clear the paper clutter from the fridge, so I made a cork board that fits perfectlly behind the pantry door

I am so excited to be giving away a Tupperware Modular Mates Homes Start Set to one lucky reader. This kit will help you to start organising your pantry, or if you already have modular mates it will extend your collection!

As I showed you yesterday ‘A guide to sizes of Tupperware Modular Mate containers for the pantry‘ you can see that I am a huge Tupperware fan. Why? The quality is brilliant, made of strong plastic, BPA free and with the ability to keep my food fresher for longer and if a container or seal does break (for an unknown reason, not if I accidentally dropped it on the floor) they will replace it as all products have a lifetime guarantee.

Yes it is expensive, but as I mentioned above it does keep food fresh longer and I believe for this reason it’s worth the extra expense as over several weeks you would have easily saved your money as you won’t be wasting as much food. I also haven’t purchased a new lunchbox for my kids since they were in kindy, the oldest 2 are now in year 4, so that’s 7 years. The lunch boxes. we have the sandwich keeper plus, have broken over this time, however my tupperware demonstrator (she is brilliant, if you are on the Gold Coast I can get you in touch with her) pops over, picks them up, gets them replaced and drops them back a week later.

The Home Start Set was the first set that I added to my pantry, the mini rectangles are my favourite size modular mates as they fit a packet of salada, crispbread, rice cakes or cream biscuits. Not too big, not too small.

This set includes:

2 x Mini Rectangle 1 – L18.7cm x W14cm x H6.2cm, 3 1/3 cups
1 x Mini Rectangle 2 – L18.7cm x W14cm x H11.7cm, 7½ cups
2 x Oval 2 – L18.5 cm x W9.5cm x H11.7cm, 4½ cups
2 x Square 2 – L18.8cm x W18.8cm x H11.7cm, 10 ½ cups

They are dishwasher safe (however I prefer to wash mine by hand) and are covered with the lifetime guarantee.

Remember if you order a Home Start Set during September you will receive a large MM Spice Set FREE!

Giveaway

If you are a Pinterest member and using the extra entry to pin an image, here is details about the Pin It button to make it easy to pin from a web page. To learn more about Pinterest, find here.

If you have seen pics of my pantry you will know that I am hooked on Tupperware. I met a mum at swimming lessons many years ago who was a tupperware demonstrator who showed me the latest Tupperware catalogue. I took it home and nearly tagged every page in the book. I believed I needed it, I wanted a pantry of modular mates and I loved the idea of their sandwich keeper plus for the kids. I got to the back page and read about becoming a demonstrator. After thinking about it for a little while, I thought this could be my answer to stocking my shelves with tupperware and occupy my time while the kids were at school and youngest was in kindy. I was a demonstrator for 1 year and in that time I managed to help pay bills and gradually build my pantry with modular mates containers. I loved it, was so much fun being a demonstrator, however with hubby’s busy work commitments I had to stop (sadly 1 week after I became a Tupperware Manager).

Modular mates are best purchased in the sets and then you can purchase them individually to best fit your pantry. I have heard that if you purchase a Tupperware Home Start Set in the next month you will receive a large MM spice set FREE!

I share this post with you today as it has been a very popular request, as many readers are wanting to purchase Tupperware for their pantry and are unsure what sizes are required. This is not a sponsored post.

Before I start sharing the sizes, I think it’s very important for you to decide which colour seals you would like to purchase. I chose black as it’s a popular colour and it’s less likely to be discontinued, which tupperware does tend to do. Black was a safe option, plus it also matched my black bench top.

Changes I would make: Use Super Oval 2 for brown and basmati rice. I’d also add to stack 4 a Rectangle 1 for Wholemeal SR Flour and an Oval 1 would fit perfectly above the White Sugar in stack 1.

Note: All these seals are normal (not pour-all), as I usually need to get my hand in to scoop out the required amount with a measuring cup.

I have just started drinking coffee, I don’t know why it took me so long, I’m hooked now. I have my 2 cups each day, just after the kids go to school and around 2pm, any later and I won’t sleep.

I keep the coffee & sugar in our pantry, mainly because we don’t have bench/wall space to display nice canisters. Instead I use a Sistema Medium Split container and lid. I purchased this container from KMart, I have also seen them at Woolworths.

This works really well as I buy a big bottle of coffee when it’s on special which I can keep this on the top shelf of the pantry and refill this smaller container when needed.

It sits neatly in our pantry

If somebody was to shake the container the sugar would fall into the coffee, but as I’m the only one that uses this container I refrain from ‘shaking it’ I love how easy it is to grab one container to make a quick cuppa!

Our fridge can be seen in most living areas of the house – dining room, lounge room and walk through area. When it has bits of paper clipped or attached to the fridge with magnets it begins to look untidy and messy. It’s a personal preference of mine that I prefer not to keep anything on the fridge except for a piece of artwork from the kids and very important papers that need to be dealt with that day. Eg Notes to go to school or mail to post.

I did have our meal planner and grocery list on the fridge, however with our new pantry makeover I have placed a pin board behind the pantry door. This is what the pantry door looked like before:

I purchased a cork board for $4 from a local discount store. I spray painted the frame of the cork board white, placing junk mail over the cork to protect while spraying.

I added 3M Velcro strips to the back of the cork board to attach to the pantry door.

I covered two A5 clipboards I purchased from Officeworks in scrapbook paper. I found this paper at Spotlight.

I glued them to the cork board. The clipboards hold our new weekly meal planner and shopping lists.

‘Whats for Dinner’ meal plan & shopping list printable available HERE

Added the kids responsibility chart, I updated the charts with chevron designs to match the clipboards.

I also spray painted a used curry tin and glued it to the cork to hold pens and pegs

I then added some twine and mini pegs (from kikki.k) to hold recipes I would like to cook

Our end result!

I must admit though after using the shopping list above for the past few weeks, I will be converting back to our previous grocery list, it’s so much easier to tick boxes and make sure that I don’t forget anything while shopping.
