A Housewife’s Guide to: Good TV Shows

Prior to starting my blog my ‘me time’ was scrapbooking, lately I haven’t had much time to dabble amongst my crafts, instead after the kids go to bed I’ve been relaxing on the couch watching some good TV.  I like to hire a series on DVD or record a few weeks worth and watch a few episodes at once, I find I get caught up and gives me a good reason to tune out to everything happening around me and have some quality me time.  I put a shoutout on facebook a few weeks ago asking readers what their favourite shows are.  So combining my favourite shows and those of readers I have put together ‘A Housewife’s Guide to Good TV’!

Offspring is my fave at the moment as well as Greys and Revenge but havent had time to watch any…… might need to invest in a TiVo!!

Revenge, Criminal Minds, NCIS,  and Castle, are at the top of my rotation list… I just keep doing marathon after marathon… also partial to Lie to Me, Bones, The Mentalist (the early stuff), Greys Anatomy and The Good Wife.
I have to admit that I don’t watch anything live on TV, I wait till the DVDs are released and then watch the whole tv series from season 1 through to the current season. Between times it’s finished TV shows like Lie to Me and Brothers & Sisters

Downton Abbey, Offspring are my absolute favourites and will make the time for those. My husband loves to scout for new series that are showing overseas so if you love Gilmore Girls, look out for “Bunheads” – it is done by the same director as Gilmore Girls and does feel a bit too much like Gilmore Girls but still enjoyable. It has the mother from GG as a starring role and she is very much the same but more loveable. The other one we are starting to get into is “Perception” which stars Eric McCormack who was Will in “Will and Grace”. He plays a professor of neuroscience who is very eccentric like Greg House (“House”) but extremely intelligent and assists in cases with the police as a sideline. Speaking of sidelines, I love Castle too; perfect to watch and  have some down time on a Sunday evening. I am looking forward to Channel 9′s new show “House Husbands” as it has Julia Morris in it.
